I want to bring the front end of my 05 4x4 up 1" to 1-1/2" (NOT A 2" LEVELING KIT- too high) Highway driving. Don't want to mess with the ride. Its bad enough. Stock shocks are not that good! Any suggestions? Thanks!

I went to a local spring shop and got a set of heavy duty springs for the front of mine for my plow. It rides just as good empty and brought the front up almost level.

What is the purpose of the 1 to 1-1/2"'s of lift? If you are just wanting to level the truck without going to tall then you could lower the rear end. There is a block that is about 1 inch thick under the rear leaf springs (on top of the axle), others have removed this block and dropped the back end rather than raise the front end.

I had a set of 1 1/2" spacers made for mine. Look exactly like the spacers by Rough Country. Raised the front end perfectly level. The ride is the same. Also bought a set of Skyjacker nitro shocks while i had the front end out. This should help.

not to hijack your board, but is there an advantage to doing a full spring replacement kit like kore or lorenz vs. spacers or vice versa?

1 1/2 inch is good for towing that way your rear end doesnt sag I got a new pair that I dont need They worked well on my 97 the kit fits 94 to 06 4x4 dodge

I searched & read so many threads- I kinda decided if I do this to just do spacers, as SO Cal conditions are a little different than SO Jersey. If we could please keep the replies to 1-1. 5" spacers it would help. The differences to kits (to me) are cost/quick install, easy to put back to stock, I only want 1-1. 5, etc etc. EDavid- you have mail-

I purchased mine with 38k on it and it had spacers installed, but it also had the factory snowplow kit on it. Dealer said the spacers were OEM. I seriously doubted it, but when we measured an OEM spring next to mine with the 1. 5" spacer, mine were only 1/2" taller. The spacers were steel and had "MOPAR" stamped on the side; needless to say, I was convinced. Dealer said they have sold trucks with the snowplow package that came either with longer springs or with factory spacers. Seems weird to me, but apparently Dodge makes spring spacers for these trucks.

I installed a lift and sold them on E-bay, but they were very stout. Maybe check with the dealer? I can imagine they are probably more $$ than the Top Gun Customz version on E-bay, but might not void any warranties too.

Well I threw in the 1. 5" Hellbent spacers today, and I am very pleased. Still has a slight rake, should be perfect with the boat or TT hanging from the back.

I like the quality of the spacer & the finish is very tough. Although once in, they are out of view.

I did notice my stock coils had different #s between port & stbd. (985 & 986)

Also thanks Ed David- another deal gone right with a TDR member. Okay-first shot at posting pics--

Truck looks good. Your results are why 1-1/2 inch spacers work better. 2" spacers raise the front end to high, on most trucks.

The brand name is Hellbent Steel.

The install was pretty simple, but a Coil Spring compressor will save you grief.

Pull the shocks & towers, disconnect sway bar links, support the frame and lower one side at a time.

Mark the coils as a referance, pull out coil, rubber & tower mtg bracket.

Reverse order to install, putting the spacers up into the receivers first. Use the marks to install the coils int the same location.

The driver side went real fast. Pass side needed the compresser for the install.

I believe Hellbents website has the instructions on the homepage.

Truck drives a before- wheel is centered. I may or may not align it. Doesnt appear the diff went to one side with this lift.

Thanks for the positive comments- Drew

If you're talking about the rear "mini-leafs"; as far as I know they are flat, and don't have any effect on pinion.

No I was talking about the little blocks on top of the axle that the leaf springs are on top of. I wanted this shop near my house to take them out, and they said that they are there for the pinion angle. So I dunno if these guys just didn't know there stuff, or if it does have some affect?
