I have the current copy of Heavy Duty Trucking sitting on my desk... .

"They'll come only with the 6. 7 L Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel at 305 HP with six speed manual or six speed auto's. They'll be available with 2 door, regular or 4 door quad cabs with 2 or 4 wheel drive models.

Production of the 4500 and 5500 HD's will commence in July at the DC plant in Mexico where 3500's are now built.

No gas engine will be available for these trucks... . "

Hopefully there will be a performance flash from mopar that will be sanctioned by D/C for us who are owner/operator of the C&C in the future or even W/O sanctioning but have the same software as the 350/650 CTD.

I bet they'll get started with that reflash as soon as they release the 05 exhaust brake flash :-laf

I'm willing to bet when they do or if they do it will be expensive and I wont be laughing, but it sure would be nice to have the option. I believe the 05 exaust brake flash was thought about and never got past the exectutives due to costs and the perception of the market at that time. Don't forget you had to purchase the exhaust brake at 2. 5k and then can't even imagine what the software would cost. I have the NV5600 manual trans and couldn't justify the costs of just the exhaust brake per the uses per year I would actualy need the exhaust brake. I could sure use the extra HP all the time though, and would pay thier price.

2. 5k for an exhaust brake? more like . 9k labor can not be $1600

I use mine every day I drive loaded or not, both trucks.

I bet Marco will have a re-flash available soon enough and it will be mmore than 350HP I'd emagine;)

Forget the Dodge service department and go to a certified Cummins shop. I got a quote of $1,400 parts and labor, including the 9. 25% TN tax

Wow 9. 25% sales tax, now that is just a rip off, do you have a state income tax as well.

Well I don't need the exhaust brake any more due to the new C&C I bought which has the exhaust brake. In fact, I,m in Kansas now and just picked up my new B&W Elite bed and will start my trip back in the morning.

I plan to report all info when I get back to So. Cal so look for it

I have a lot of pics and mpg for both with & without bed when I get back, I promise, even the tour of the plant. However I'm not due to get back until sun/mon, if I dont get snowed in when I,m sking in Breckenridge or Aspen Colorado, of coarse I hope I do, :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I guess he got cought in a BIG snowstorm eh?

My chumm went through there and back with a Duramax (I assume) since then.

Sad state of affairs...

If your refering to me, I did get back and check out "road trip with pics as promissed" including the MPG for the trip, at the C&C forum.

I want an actual "engine brake" not a goofy exhaust flapper. Cat put on on their new C7 and Cummins on the 8. 3L so their getting closer. :)
