Wow Banks High ram

I put a banks High ram on my truck about a year ago. I went to leave yesterday and could hear all kinds of air rushing under the hood when I took a look at it I noticed that the casting around where one of the studs mounts had a big chunk broke out. I called banks today to see what they could do as far as warranty, while I’m talking on the phone with the guy I can hear him smacking sound like he is eating something and he tells me there is really nothing that he could do maybe the people that I bought it from could help. Wow that will be the last banks product I ever buy (not like it did any good any way) I will post pictures shortly. I hope I’m not crossing the line by posting this but I just thought I would share my experience.

Wow, what a piece of junk. I hope you get satisfaction.

I just ordered my new turbo, and decided not to throw money away on an intake horn or exhaust manifold unless they crack or something along those lines. I doubt the power "gains" are worth the money IMO.

That just helps the engine breath better! Thats what he advertises..... more air flow because of bigger ports. LOL Sorry about your problem... . hope the seller can help.

I don’t think I’m going to bother with trying to get this replaced. The way I see it I put my stock intake back on gained some horsepower and am completely free of any banks power products.

BTowler... . Looses 12 hp ? Is that on 3rd gens too as they have a restriced intake much more than an 01... . ?

Before you folks trash Bank's reputation, questions need to be asked, like, did you use a torque wrench when you installed it. If you did what did you torque it to. You could have cracked it when you put it on. Not saying I use a torque wrench on every bolt, but if I don't, and I strip or break something, not being carefull, I accept the consequenceses.

Banks products are over priced, over hyped junk, you can keep it.

A guy I work with used to work at Banks, in CA. He told me that the cost vs HP gains was irrational at best, and that some of the products that Banks puts out (High Ram, for example) does nothing but look pretty.

Looks like there should be some sort of spacer collar in there. I would think it wouldn't take a lot of torque or vibration to cause the failure we see here.

Banks is nothing but a marketing machine that uses high pressure sales tactics. When I first got my truck and didn't know any better, I called Banks about some of thier products. Well the salesman I spoke to called me back 3 times a week and kept that up for almost 2 months, even after being told I couldn't afford anything at that time!!!!
