So far I've tried the standard Dewalt A24 grit (sold at Lowes), Norton Charger Rightcut, and Flexovit Razorblade 27 (depressed center).

Of these, the Norton Charger was far and away the fastest and smoothest cutting (especially through hardened bearings). I'd like to get my hands on a Norton NorZon wheel, but can't find them conveniently.

What do you guys like?

I've used a lot of the Razorblades. It is amazing the differences in grinding\cutting disk from different manufactures. Flexovit disks seem to be good in my opinion. I find that the cutting disks can last longer if it doesn't get bouncing.

I have used the Norzons and other Norton ones, Radnor, etc. Harbor Frieght ones too.

I can't tell a difference really and I use ALOT of cut off wheels. The cheapos wear out a bit faster, but for the price, it's not a big deal.

I do a lot of cutoff at work and the owner bought some wheels from fastenal and the more we used them, the longer it seemed like they lasted, far better than the ones from tsc. I went to fastenal to pick up an order and they had them on sale, boss said get a bunch. We use both the original slicer and the super slicer. They cut clean, fast, and last long. They are a little hard on batteries for the dewalt angle grinder, but they are always on that thing.

Try em, my . 02

Goto fastenal and look on the rack, one has a black and white label "Original Slicer", and the other is a color label "Super Slicer", they come in 6" and 4" sizes, we use the 6" ones and when they get small, they get put on the air cutoff. great wheels, we use a bunch of them. they will cut anything, stainless, aluminium, brass, and of course steel, they even cut the hardend steel shafts that are on the pumps that we use. nice clean cut too.

I use a lot of grinding wheels, mostly the 4-1/2" x 7/8". The Flexovit and Olympia are two good sources for grinding wheels. But I have used Dewalt, Black & Decker, Norton and several other no name brands. Enco sells some Diamond and Rex-Cut wheels that are as good as anybodies.

I use more sanding disc then grinding disc, probally ten/twelve to one in favor of the sanding disc. I like then better, you can control them better and they don't gouge. I use all grits but A-36 is my most used. Flexovit, Silver are a few brands I use, but I don't stay with one brand, I buy when they are on sale generally 50-100/grit at a time and truthfully they are all good.
