Off Roading SNAP goes the tow strap... (video)

It idles too high... sometimes. It's as if the computer is hunting for an idle. Goes between 900-1500 rpm. Mine was the first one that the pump guy had that acted like that. He's seen 1 since that did it. Something in the programming of the '99 truck doesn't digest well with the pump. Dealer reflash "will fix it"... hopefully. I've been having programming problems with truck since I have it. Maybe I should just p-pump it an run!?!

A Smarty would have the latest dealer SW I would think.

GDMRTN---have you checked the APPS/TPS voltage?? maybe you need to adjust it and see what happens--may need to ask where you got your pump if it's the same as all VP's--I believe it's . 584 volts... chris

What we need is a true dyno comparison between this pump and a HRVP or -27 pump. I am talking about same day, same truck, same dyno (peferably dynojet). Something with enough air that if there is additional fuel the gain will be accurate. According to all the boards several guys have the pumps but there seems to be no accurate info..... Flow numbers would be great but we need a standardized testing method for the stand. Thats one problem going on n ow with the p7100 pump, no standard for testing. One pump claims 700cc and another will test same pump and get 450cc.

I am in hopes that the pump works well and produces additional HP. We are working on some mods that will only enhance any additional fueling that may be found..... If all works as planned the more the fuel the bigger the gain!

Doug

im up for some dyno testing. i have a truck with a HRVP44 on it already that has room for fuel left since right now no matter how hard i beat on it i cant get it to go over 1400* Oo. Oo.

but... im gonna be mad if this new pump makes too much more hp when i have to take it back off to put my HRVP44 back on because I can't be paying all that money for the new pump

If the manufacturers of these pumps would like to "Donate for testing" or provide one at a great price for testing, I would be willing to dyno and test the pumps. I think I have a pretty good setup and could handle some high hp numbers. My truck is a daily driver so it could also be a good test for that aspect too. There is a local dyno shop (that most of the people on here know of) and I could set-up a dyno date for testing very quickly after receiving the pumps. Let me know if we can work something out.

I think they feel they've done their testing on the sled pull track last year and for the ones on the street since last year---the limited dyno results that have been posted may not be all that they've done--I have heard a dyno # for the stage 3 that was pretty impressive, but I don't know the truck set up---but you never know one might get lucky with the right contact, but I'm not holding my breath---I will provide info when I can but I've got plenty to do before I swap pumps--I want just a pump swap so that an apples to apples comparison can be done---I'm sure someone will beat me to it though----chris

hey Sutton, this is your ole buddy adam ross lol. hey i was on another forum and i no we both saw the video of that nasty sounding silver truck. dont know what he had but it ran fairly well for a vp truck. he said to another guy that its an inline VP pump but i have never heard of that before. any ideas.

Hey Adam---didn't hear that--I definitely heard it was a new Monster VP and maybe it was just how the owner was describing it---runs like an inline, but it's really a VP----chris

note: I thought you were talking about another truck--Tom's truck is p-pumped unless he went super top secret---chris

what is a so/ho/sho vp44's max hp output range ? seems it could be calculated since fuel volume can be measured and btu's figured for optimal burn,ect,ect...

all i know is for a VP truck, it had lots and lots of fuel, smoke never even tried to clear up. sounded mean. he told Richard Brown that the only reason it loped like it did was becuase they had one injector with a messed up pop off presure, which i didnt buy that for one minute. either way, it ran well and i will be talkin to ya soon bud.

lloyd... how do you know so much about this VP44 thing?

maybe its that NGM shop thats doing this R&D and making all the latest break throughs in power!!! DOH!

not sure about that but I was up there a few weeks ago and they were installing industrial injection dual cp3 on wades truck. that was before II had advertised dual CP3 on their website, so I was like Huh? you mean PPE or ATS and he responded his remark about ATS then said II makes this kit.

It was late at night and I had my focus on leaving my truck up there so I never got to really look under the hood of the truck. I just noticed the pulley from where I was standing behind the truck but too the side. and he had the plumbing in his hand I believe was to the Engine coolant. But great guys up their at NGM. wade or robert if you are reading pm me I want to spend more money.

I cant make out the green lettering on the side of the truck. any one good with video enhancement so we can find out who to attempt to contact. I just wanna know the shop thats on the leading edge. maybe look up their site thats all I am interested in.

Gus Are you gonna be running that pump at the pull at big lick on the 9th? I hope not cuz I may just end up driving 8 hours to sit on the side line instead of pulling.

looks like Tcolesanti "Big Power Diesel" in green lettering on the side of the truck, correct me if im wrong

I wasn't sure if it was ppumped or not, but sounds like he is turning big RPM. I have heard of a guy hitting almost 5k with a redline unlimited box, but can't confirm it or not.

yes its Tcolesanti's truck. i was told in vegas that its an VP truck so i could be wrong. just what i heard. i sent him a message on another forum to confirm if its a VP pump or P pump.

Redline unlimited box??? wow I would like to know more about this anyone know any info on it? I have heard of a guy name mike biggers talking about using redline box going to 5 grand but couldnt find any info. he should be at the big lick sled pull on the 12th with a few trucks. him and his wife both pull. I used to fix what they tore up in the rearendz. any info on this unlimited box would be cool cuz I had heard from biggers buddy that he was turning 5 grand and I want to know more about this box for those trucks

stupid question. I know that over the years dodge/cummins keeps upping the fuel pressure on the high pressure side to make more power and cleaner spray (exhaust wise) but I am wondering how much more pressure is coming out of the latest VP's still under R&D?

also why would you run this VP instead twin injection pumps?
