I'm an @$$? Reliable advise? You argued about Jeff's truck when you did not have any first-hand knowledge and I surely do. I'll leave our other conversation out of this, but keep reading on the internet and see who is running stock headbolts regardless of your opinion.

Read what I said again. You are the one making yourself out to be what you are.

Yes Reliable advise. Lets see common sense shows that people lift the head at 45psi with the stock charger and stock head bolts. Using BETTER equipment to go FARTHER than that is reliablity. What some people have done and may continue to do doesn't make it reliable. That is their choice. I'd be willing to bet (again not first hand) that Garmons don't send people out at high HP levels with stock head bolts, regardless of what they do with their own truck.

How much? Or am I still making myself look like an @$$? You may want to keep your predictions to yourself before someone else comes across this.

I have a '97 dodge 12V and I run a pretty similar set-up, like you i really like the extra power and decent fuel economy. You didn't waste anything, for less then $400. 00, you almost doubled your trucks HP and add at least 200-300 ft/lbs of torque! Sounds like a very good deal to me????

I don't know for sure, but this other guy sure sounds bitter???? What gives, get up on the wrong side???? O'well, it takes all sorts!

Good luck with your truck.

what kind of boost are you running on that HX35? I had an HX35 w/ a 18. 5cm housing on my 98 215 truck, and w/ stock injectors, custom plate and modded AFC, it would do 45psi easy

I believe it was running 44psi with high EGT's. I'm not bitter, for $400 I can make a lot more hp than an aftermarket plate.

'98 Auto Dyno-Jet ... 450hp stock injectors no test stand

'96 5spd Dyno-Jet ... 500hp stock injectors no test stand

Well your first hand knowlege must be GREAT! :-laf

I'm here at the DHRA Diesel Nationals at IRP, currently using the Hotel computer. Guess what, I was under the hood of the Silverline drag truck today. Guess what I found. Studs.

So now, you can discontinue your needless and unwarrented bashing. You've been proven wrong.

I'll bet, that's WAY out of the efficienty range for a 35 :(

I had to grind another plate and slide it back to get the truck down to 35psi

Take a look under the hood of Darren's black truck and tell me what you see. You sure act like you know something since that is the first time you have seen that truck in person.

There are reprocussions for doing this but one thing you can do is put a T3 turbo flange in between the manifold and turbo then when the wastegate opens it will vent all 6 cylinders. You would be surprised how much it will bring boost down, in stock format you only wastegate 3 cylinders.

Give me a 215 truck with nothing more than a set of Gov Springs and 370's and I will show you some stupid power out of that combo... . that's $550.

As long as the flange is undivided yes, this is also why the HY35 has a more efficient wastegate than the HX35. I prefer injectors with the 145* spray pattern, but like you stated hp can be made without spending rediculous amounts of money which is my entire point.

Actually that's not the first time I've seen it in person. I generally don't pick appart if they have studs or not. While I helped push Darrens truck back on the trailer Sunday, the hood was on and I wasn't about to bother them on something so trivial.

Now, I can also say that I spoke with other vendors at IRP, one of which sells "alot of studs to Jeff. "

Humm... who do I believe now?

I don't want you to believe me, that would mean that you have made a smart decision, and at this point that is beyond your scope. I was around Jeff's truck when it was first painted as the "Silverline" truck, back when it was running an 11. 8 with S300 non ET and HT3B twins, then it went to a SP66 and nitrous, and now back to a PS66 and HT4C twins. You have no knowledge of anything pertinent to the conversation, I never stated that Jeff was running headbolts in "his" truck, I said that you would be suprised who is. I would be embarrassed to be a shop owner if I displayed your level of insight, but I will gladly keep proving you wrong if you desire.

I guy could get a hones set of 300's for a good price and have that pattern. I didn't know about that HY wastegate thing but I know have one on the parts bench and got to see that.

I guess what I was looking at a big bang for no big bucks.

Jim

The HY35 uses a non-divided inlet which allows all six cylinders to be wastegated therefore it is more efficient. Tuning as you also know can gain good amounts of power with little to no money being spent.
