Thanks Crazy Horse! Nice videos. Did the 1st one's Cessna land across the river and take off on the same side as your truck? That's what it looks like to me!

Nick

He did a "touch n go" on the other side of the river an then landed over by us next to the truck.

Nice guy he was about 65 yrs old, shared a pepsi with him and he was on his way again.

I saw a Cessna 310 that landed in 30' next to a hanger I used to work at. I'm not sure that "landing" is the correct term though.

Last fall I got the DVD Big Rocks & Long Props. Super Cub & a Maule did take offs & landings that will blow your mind. If you've ever seen Super Cub Hardcore, well this new video makes the Hardcore video seem like a documentary of a student X-country solo.

Not a movie you want to watch before you go flying.

Wish I could see the videos but I'm on a dial up modem.

That site I linked has a couple clips from the site who sells the Big Rocks and Long Props video, I forget the name. Let me see if I can find it!

Anyway, on the link I posted, in the General Aviation section, by the short takeoffs links, there is a website link for them. www.akbushwheel.com The clip is a shorter version of the longer version on that site.

Cummins Pilot, where did you purchase the video? The akbushwheel.com site had clips but I don't see where to buy the whole DVD.

Nick

Thanks for posting that site. I was up VERY late last night watching videos. The SU30 video is astounding! That pilot either has really big ones, or is dumber than a box of rocks. My guess is he's not dumb! Great site!

My local aircraft parts dealer has the DVD. They call it Super Cub porn :-laf

I can't wait for the second DVD. At an aviation expo this last spring they (the pilots in the video) said it would better than the first.

Nice tail pipe fire, hope that is not normal... ..... looks like a nozzle issue, but continuing the start to blow the fire out is fine, it's either that or stop start and hope you can windmill the fire out.

Jim

Maybe we can get Doug (Jet Pilot) on this one.

He and I both will say the same thing... ..... Terrain, Terrain, Terrain... ..... bet the box was B***ing hard on that one! Funny thing is all that and he landed short and did not de-crab enough... ... . would love to shoot that approach, but with only a few selected people!

Takeoff's, Landing... especially like that one and sightseeing are the only things i'm going to miss about flying!

Jim

This was on PBS a few years ago...

A documentary about the R & D on the Boeing 777.

They added ballast the the airbus, to get it up to 288 tons. Got it up to 210mph, then hit the binders. 9. 5 million Ft lbs of energy into the pads & rotors.

Note the White Hot rotors at points.
