They Tricked MY Truck! NO JOKE!

Highlight of the 5th annual MNTDR Dyno day is when we took Josh Peters out and showed what we at Triple D did to his truck with out him knowing.

It was priceless to see the look on his face, what was even more fun was the fact he did not realize that it was his ride, sitting in front of him.

Incredible guys, incredible. I'm still looking out the window, and I can't believe it's MY truck sitting there. There are things in life you just can't explain with words. What was done to my truck is one of them. The family sacrafices you guys made, the business sacrafices, I'm at a total loss for words. I will forever be in debt to EVERYONE involved in this project. As I'm sure I don't even know everyone that was involved, and was told I may never know.



Ladies and Gentlemen, I am eternally greatful for your generosity and I can only hope that I can return that to you some day.

Josh is a great guy and Josh and I have been best friends for a long long time. We met in preschool when we were just little kids, and we've been great friends ever since. We grew up together and been through a lot together. When Jim and Chris approached me with the idea of restoring Josh's truck, I was solidly in 110%. Josh is the kind of guy who will gladly give you the shirt off his back even if it is the last thing he has. He helps people out constantly, even when there are times he would be better off taking care of his own priorities. Bottom line he is a great guy who needed wheels and needs to take care of his new daughter. The black Caprice was my grandfather's. He loved that car, but could no longer drive it due to his Alzhimer's disease. My grandfather and grandmother are gone now, but before they died my grandmother wanted me to have the old Caprice. I knew where it would best serve, and my family gave it to Josh at a time when he was unemployed. Josh traveled to North Carolina with my family and helped move my ailing grandparents back to Minnesota. He endured the drive out there in a cramped Subaru with my mother and sister (the poor guy) and after loading everything up in a Penske truck he drove it back to Minnesota with the Caprice in tow. It was a good car but things started to go downhill with it when he got T-boned in the passenger side. He kept driving it anyway, and he knew how much that car was a part of my childhood memories. For a while there we were hoping to restore the car, but it is better off going to a demo derby now.



Anyway, I gladly donated what I could with this project truck to get Josh back on the road with his 1-ton of fun. I donated all AMSOIL fluids and filters, even wiper blades. I have also paid for a spray-in ArmorThane bedliner that he has to come get sprayed in yet as we didn't have time to get it done before the dyno day. ICEBOX Manufacturing was also kind and generous to donate an ICEBOX intake to Josh even though they don't know the guy other than for the fact that he's my bud. Them ICEBOX guys are top notch, so a big THANK YOU to John and Mark at Icebox Manufacturing



The truck sings with a wicked mean exhaust note and looks dang classy rolling down the road. Cheers Josh! Thank you Jim and Chris and everyone at Triple D for making this possible and letting me be a part of it. I couldn't think of a more deserving guy for such a gift as our Josh Peters.



Good stuff. Saturday was so fun seeing you get your rig back, Josh. I hope you enjoyed all the misinformation we fed you. I know we did.

Thanks for the very kind words Chuck. I think it's really starting to sink in today. Especially after reading what you wrote.

I'm beside myself. It's been an interesting year. With the birth of my daughter and what you guys have done to my truck being my highlights. The rest has been, well pretty low. Being engaged, then being told that she's not readyr to have to "answer" to someone the rest of her life. It's also been tough not knowing if I'm going to have a job next week, or the week after.

You guys have really helped me, not with the truck, but as friends. For that alone I am gratetful. The truck has really shown me that even when it's really a rough time, the people that matter the most, notice. Even when I have played things off, you guys never really believed it. But you have always believed in me.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the families and friends of those who helped I thank you too. I know what went into this project, and I know it HAD to be a strain on your lives.

For everyone involved, a very sincere and tear filled: Thank You.

I know I may never be able to show or repay some of the folks involved how much it means to me. I hope my Thanks here and on the other boards where this is posted is at least a small token of my appreciation.

I would like to openly and publicly thank Jim from Triple D Performance for taking me on as a partner(sometimes known as a pain in the butt) and giving me the opportunity to do what I love doing most. Not only doing what I love most but being able to spend more quality time with my children and able to return the favor of "pay it forward".



Many here dont know about my past and some explaining needs to be done so you understand the "pay it forward".



Before joining Jim I ran a hotshot trucking business and only played with my trucks when time allowed which wasnt often. Christmas time in 04 I decided to take time off from driving to spend a month at home enjoying my 3 children ages... twins 4 now and a daughter 9 now and my wife Carrie. It was the most needed time I ever took in my life to spend with my family as my wife was killed in a car accident on January 7th 2005.



The following hours, days, and weeks were filled with many talks with Josh and an offer to help any way he could even knowing it would put himself in a predicament. Josh in his own way showed me that good people do still exist and he helped me become a believer even on my worst days.



3 monthes after my wife's death I received a card in the mail addressed from a Christian group in Florida with a very small note inside that said we seen your wifes obituary and thought we could help... Please pay it forward! There was no return address and multiple internet searches yielded no info for contact to this group but inside the card they included a check for 1700. 00 made out to me to help offset costs of a funeral. Ive never been able to thank that group but since getting the card I watched a movie named Pay it Forward and I immediately knew what I had to do. I needed to extend my generosity to someone else in need.



The truck rebuild was Jims idea knowing that Josh was on a very tight budget and wasnt going to be able to get his truck running anytime soon and as soon as he mentioned doing the project I told him get it here. Some of you know hes been driving a Caprice Classic that burns more oil in a week than our beloved trucks use in a service change and all the while it being his only transporation besides a dead truck and an old motorcycle with winter coming. I thought about this alot at first knowing he has a young baby that he transports around and knew Josh was the guy to extend my generosity too. Plus all the help he was to me when I lost my wife. Even after all the time, smashed fingers, money, parts, and hangovers I have NO regrets for doing this for you. I cant thank you enough Josh for being my shoulder when needed, but this is part of it bud! And thanks again to you Jim for letting me be a part of this.

It was great doing this for someone who has brought a whole community of diesel heads together up here in Minnesota.

When I first met Josh (from here at TDR) 4yrs ago. I made it out to the very first dyno event, and there he was... ... ... . what a card I thought, but I wanted to meet new people, and he was the only name I knew off of TDR. For those that know Josh he is something else, will give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it more than him.

The last few years have been tough on Josh and with a truck not running and always willing to help others keep there rides going I thought why not give back to him for all he has done for others.

So while talking to Chris Snyder, we decided that getting this truck running was top on the list. Well as you can see what we had to deal with, a rotten cab, box fenders, a motor that had been torn apart, and an inner cooler and radiator that was stolen out of the box... ... ... . best guess someone needed the alum for scrap.

Things went fast on this truck, and I am very proud to be a part of this as well as to have friends that are willing to pitch in without batting an eye about it. So I wanna send a thanks out to Chris Snyder, his helper Kenny, Chris Anderson, Dave Goerend, Aron Howlett, Matt B (Alpha Cowboy), and those of you that sent some extra cash for the work. It was all worth it and for a good cause, and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Josh enjoy your ride... ... ... ... and will be good to see you pull up in a truck now instead of something that I am worried about you driving... .....
