We drove straight down I-5 from Portland to Grants Pass then into California. I though about you, but I didn't know where Canyon City was nor your place.

Canyon City is in eastern Oregon - and adjoins John Day at the intersection of Hwy 395 and 26 - one of the few major east/west routes in this part of the country, which was why I thought you might have come this way from Idaho on your way to Grant's Pass. But maybe we'll catch ya NEXT time when you're out putting miles on that nifty new rig! :D:-laf

I see where Canyon City is now. Actually your not too far from La Grande. I had wanted to do a tour of the Northwood factory, but I never called to schedule one. We maybe going by Canyon City next year on our way to Alaska. We haven't nailed down any plans yet, however.

Grizzy,

Is your hitch a pullrite super glide (one that automatically slides)? If so you need to contact me as there is a serious safety problem with the hitch pin that attached to the locking bar breaking. Pullrite has not corrected this. It is a simple fix but if not done your locking bar to the trailer's pin could possibly open while towing (bye bye new AF 5th).

I did install the the PullRite 16K Hitch, but it's not the Super Glide Slider, since I have the long bed DRW. I did install the Super Rail Kit, but that's under the bed. I have not heard of that problem with the Super Glide.

Good on you!!

We've had an AF 30U for about 4 years. Not much on the market can top it.

Even had a few warranty issues at first, but the factory in Oregon handled them with no probs whatever! Very easy to deal with and helpful as ever you'd want. Great product and good people to deal with!

Happy traveling.

Totally agree with you. There may be others that can top AF, but you pay a bit more for them. It's the best 5er for the money, imo.

Super Glide 5th Wheel Hitch Safety Concern

Some above have requested more information about the safety concern I had with the Pullrite Super Glide 5th Wheel Trail Hitch. I don't want to step on Grizzly's post - especially when he is so justifiably proud of his new 5th wheel trailer Arctic Fox trailer (Congratulations Grizzly). Anyway, I started a thread on the Super Glide subject (with pictures) titled:

Super-Glide 5th Wheel Hitch

Don't know if the below link will get you there but try if you want information on the above or search on the thread title above.

Thanks MMerlino, I have read your thread and it is quite alarming. I hope PullRite does the right thing and have a recall on them. Thanks for the congrats on the new 5er, we're happy with it.

Grizz, she is a beaut! :)

Does the generator run on propane?

Thanks Gonzo2. The Onan generator runs on propane, which I like. No need to carry gasoline with us. Incidentally, this 5er has two 10 gal propane bottles on board, which is unusual for this small size 5er (27'). I believe most have two 7 gal bottles.

Are you still in the Vancouver area?

No, we moved about 250 miles East, got sick of the rain. :-laf

Kelowna is in an area called the Okanagan, not bad, drier with lakes, orchards and wineries. Lots of good camping around but the season is shorter than the coast.
