With diesel @ $3. 66/Gallon around here for the last three months I was thinking of putting in RV 275 or Mach 1 injectors to increase my mileage. I currently get about 19 MPG calculated. Which injector would give me the biggest increase in mileage. I am not looking for more HP. I am running a 3=Pc manifold, 4" exhaust and air system on stock engine.

RV275 injectors made a difference in my brothers truck, around 2 miles per gallon. You should look into the new max mileage module from quadzilla, slight performance increase, but gains mpgs by up to 12%. Here is the link Quadzilla

Hi all,

I really like my Quadzilla MMM. Good investment.

I've always wondered how larger injectors could increase fuel mileage and increase power??? Are they not injecting more fuel which explains the increase in power?

Thanks

Ron

Hey All

Mach are great, but put the 275's in and with the left over $$$ buy the Quad MMM.

Best of all worlds.

Also I think you gain HP and MPG because of better and more even spray pattern.

Same idea, buy the 275's and use the left over money for a Smarty. Then you can read codes, tinker with the timing and clean up the drivabilty that the factory took out of it.

You should be able to get low 20's on the highway.

I got an increase of about 1. 5 mpg with my original Mach 1. 5's. Going to 3. 8's didn't change it. As I understand it, the mileage increase is due to several things. Better atomization & effective increase in timing from the injection event occurring sooner. # of holes & spray angles may contribute as well.

Hi

Has anyone got the Cummins part number for the 275 injectors?

I have two numbers but don't know which one is correct.

3943201

39441831

Thanks

My brother has the injectors from Pensacola Diesel. They are knockoffs & sell for $244 a set, but worth every penny, very smooth.

F1 will build you a Mach 1. 2 for best fuel mpg.

They are $700 plus $100 core. Pensacola Diesel, Inc. has them for $244 and free shipping, no core.

German Bosh injectors are what I am looking for, so I would still like to know the correct part number for Cummins.

If you don't have a timing box (EZ or VanAken) that will make a bigger difference than injectors for mileage and might be cheaper. The 275's might get you some increase or not. Mine didn't but i put them in for a little more uumph. Also added a vanaken box for towing and it's a good combo!

I ran DD2's,then Mach 1. 6's(no real difference) and an Edge EZ on my '99. Results were a quick, great running truck. If I were you I'd just run RV275's and an EZ or Van Aaken box. Nice combination. transmission upgrades were a necessity which resulted in wallet drainage but enhanced driveability.

If your budget is tight try looking in the TDR classifiesd for used RV 275's or Mach 1. 5's & a used EZ. If you have right foot restraint, you can get buy without a transmission upgrade but you'd be well advised to look into that soon.

The key to mileage is efficiancy. Larger (within reason) injectors deliver a more even flow and dispersal often due to more uniform injectors. Larger air filter delivers less resistance to intake. Larger / no muffler less resistance to outtake. The byproduct is more power but the gain is that the engine is at its optimum working point. The quadzilla manages these systems with sensors to keep you at your potential best . Ive been wanting to buy a Quadzilla MMM as well. I went from 16 average to 19. 8 average @ 75mph by going with the Bd 40+ injectors, getting rid of the muffler, and putting on a HX 35 turbo from an h. o. engine. Next is a bluechip mileage injector pump (partly because I have to replace mine) and a chip. The final mod will be a full lockup kit for the transmission so that all the power with go to the ground. The best I've gotten was 24. 4 @ 65mph and I hope to bump that up to 27 mpg.

24. 4 @ 65mph?

Wow, I'd pay $ to see that...

Im not doubting it, but, VERY UNREAL:(

Oh! by the way, The overhead shows/displays 99 when Im coasting down a hill, does that count?

24MPG... . nice wish... . I'm lucky to get 13. 5, but then again I only drive 20min to work doing 70MPH. I tried slowing down with this last tank of fuel to 60-65MPH, but the calculator is reading 15. 0MPGs... . I've done the manual calculations and the computer is dead on. I don't know if the short distance is what's sucking my fuel consumption, but I was used to getting about 17-19MPGs in Maryland. Best I ever got was 21. something, but that was doing 55MPH. So the general consensus is that the RV275s and Quadzilla MMM is the way to go, eh?

I'm not sure there is a consensus but that would work. I'd venture that mach series EDM injectors would split a hair to slightly better mileage & other timing boxes & tuners would give you similar gains. So many good choices it gets confusing.

I started out with 275 and an EZ with a BHAF and 4". Nice old school tried and true. Now I would go with Mach 1. 6 and the Quadzilla MMM or Smarty, AFe in and 4" out. First things first do the transmission. If you can't get the power to the ground then don't waste the money bombing. Wish I still got the MPGs I did back then.
