I saw one. I asked the guy why he bought that instead of the Dodge. (he has lots of dodges) He said; more wheel base options, more interior options, you didn't get stuck with option packages. (ex. rubber mat with power windows).

There was something else too, but I don't remember what.

I know of a trucking service center that has at least 2 and loves them, they look sweet, didn't even think they were getting made until I seen one as I was driving by the business

he's mistaken... they are the same truck with different wrapping paper.

The reason to go with the Sterling is because they offer 24/7 service at some of the dealerships and I don't believe Dodge does.

I agree. It would be ridiculous to think that Dodge would build different frames, bodies, or anything else for such a small market as the few Dodge Rams that will be sold with Sterling grills and badges.

I have seen several up and down I-85 thru Charlotte. Last week the first one on the lot. Looked it over very well. Except to badges and grill the truck is a Dodge 5500.

I passed at least 20 C&C's being moved on flat beds, the same way my 5500 was delivered... they all were Dodges... You'd assume that to keep fuel costs down they'd put both models on a flat bed going to the same town... .

But we've got Dave Smith and Dishman... . both Mega dodge dealers... so I'm guessing the Sterling guy who I pass at least 4 times a month will never sell one... . at least I've never seen one on his lot...

Here the dodge dealer can't sell the big dodges. He's not a five star. I don't think they have a lift either. Here at my place of business we by trucks and service from the the sterling dealer already so it would be good fit. They have western star, Freightliners, sterling and something else I don't remember.

When I placed the order for our 5500 back in June of last year the dealer was held up from DC and acceptance of the order... they were a 5 star dealer but had not ordered the special lifts, and tool sets required to get the trucks... and once the trucks were on order their techs were to go through training on the trucks.....

Branford CT one is sitting on a used car lot. Signal 73 and I saw it at the exact same time I was flat out floored. The fact is that it is a Ram with a 5-8000 dollar sticker jump to wind up back on the market by someone at a used lot none the less is beyond me.

A dealer doesn't have to be a Five Star rated dealer to sell 4500/5500 trucks. The dealer has to be a "Business Link" dealer. In order to be a business link dealer they have to set up with the heavy lift, stock parts, provide a lot more service hours (don't think it is 24/7 but it is more than a standard car/light truck dealer, and meet other requirements.

I guess the point is Dodge wants a Business Link dealer to operate more like a real truck service center to get commercial trucks repaired and back on the road asap.
