I haven't had grid heaters in my 94 for over 10 years now. I don't live in the cold country but I do visit,So far it has always appeared that good batteries were more important than grid heaters.

Hint HInt... ... . If I had one of these intakes I could go to Imler Diesel in Sacramento dyno my truck and provide the results ... ... ... ... .

That was with grid in place on a 2006 dodge with twin turbos.

Thanks for the info clarification Stefan - it was pretty obvious there were mods, from the "before" power display graph, but didn't know what the other mods were.

I'd still also like some feedback as to dyno'd gains, W/WO the grid-delete block installed, especially on a 2nd generation truck, how much exrtra power is the grid-delete worth as shown on a dyno graph - others are curious as well - any dyno sheets showing that? :D

Well, I ordered mine today. If it gets here before I leave, it should, I may be able to dyno with and without at May Madness in a couple weeks if they will let me split the runs. I would expect it to be at least as good as the AFE that was tested at TVP a while ago.

Just to clarify, that is not your dyno sheet Gary? And also is there a check engine light because of the grid heater delete?

No, I can match the torque in that graph, but he has me beat by about 100 HP! :-laf:-laf

I removed the grid heater power cables from the relays to the heaters, the ECM doesn't even know they aren't connected - no CES. I think the ECM only gets excited if the relays fail or are disconnected.

I've read reports from other users, and seems the same general power gains are common, but need more of these out on trucks and dyno rollers - I plan to dyno mine as soon as I can get close to a dyno, meanwhile, watching for more results myself... ;)

Any SOP dyno results? I can't tell any difference just tooling around town. But the other day driving to work I had to jump on it pretty hard, 4th gear and when the RPM's hit about 2300 it came on like it was on fire, even broke the tires loose.

I did get mine in time for May madness but didn't have time to install before I left due to having to relocate the fuel pressure isolator and a few other things. I took it with me and it got a lot of attention there. A friend of mine was drooling so I let him install it on his truck for the drive back. He pulls almost 21K combined. I have not yet heard if he felt any difference, but as soon as he reports in I'll post his thoughts. He is keeping it so he ordered another one to give to me.

Allnew2ME, after I wiped the drool off and installed it, it was really hard to tell a difference. I am sure there is some but only a slight difference. But it does look good.

Well Mike, it's all about appearence, if you look good all is well. I have to admit it does look great, I only wish I had one too. Nice job on the dipstick relocation, it looks good all painted up. Not too bad for something you made in a campground.

I think like Gary these people just leave their truck in the garage an polish them up for show and drive another truck they never show. They are for sure not a working truck as no one has enough time to work and clean their engine and the under carriage to show room condition. ha ha

I did commute 100miles daily for awhile and it does pull a 5er for camping and fishing, and does not fit in the garage the wifes Beemer pushed me out. But it is amazing what a little simple green and water can do. :-laf:D:D

We're halfway thru our 1500 mile RV trip, lots of mountain grades, and I too can't really and without doubt point to definite gain - seems like a bit faster on turbo spool, and slightly less EGT - and also, last trips were also using the Smarty, which is now gone. I'd say the intake is every bit as efficient as the previous stock intake/Smarty combo, certainly no LESS power than before with the Smarty - but I don't trust MY "butt-O-meter" any more than anyone else's!

I'll be doing a careful MPG test on our return trip - was a bit over 17 MPG towing the 5er last time over the same route - and will also probably do a dyno run with the NW Bombers this coming August in Boise...

All that said, I like it, and have no regrets - a good trade-off in apparent efficiency vs the Smarty, on my truck, and the way I use it. ;)

17MPG towing a 5th wheel, man what kind of engine does that 5th wheel have and do you subtract the 5th wheel mileage from your truck mileage? Must be a typo or a very small 5th wheel.
