I have been running a TST PMCR since they came out and have been very happy with it but need a new wire harness and am considering just ordering a new Smarty. I would like to hear from anyone who had a TST and switched over to a Smarty and if you thought the performance was better or not.

And please give details

Thanks

i went from a predator to a smarty and was dissappointed, but the say the ez and smarty make a killer stacker. so it looks like you will be a happy camper

Mark from TST told me when I picked up my Smarty that the TST and the Smarty make a good stack because the Smarty gives you more on the bottom end, and the TST takes care of the top end. He also warned me that if you stack the two, it's really easy to drain the rail with a stock CP3 pump. With the Smarty alone on SW5, you will start to drain the rail on a hard run.

i run smarty only and have been very happy. on a hard pull sw#9 i haven't seen less than 18thousand rail pressure. but sometimes still question myself wanting to try the tst stack... .....

I have had a Smarty for a year and a half. I got the TST a week ago.

In a week I bent the shaft on my stock turbo running TST only.

I am hoping to limp it home today and upgrade this week.

I ran the TST/EZ, then the TST/EZ/Smarty, then the Smarty/EZ, then the Smarty/MP8. IMO, The Smarty/EZ is the best combo hands down.
The TST is now gone, it is too violent for my liking, and you can only use a small portion of the TST when stacked with the Smarty.

You do have to be careful with tst and smarty stack. too much timing can cause a really bad rattle in your motor. I have tst, ez and smarty, they all work awesome ez and smarty take care of low end tst has the top end. It doesn't take much for me to suck my fuel psi to 0 and therefore spike rail psi and egts. Even with the mods i have.

the only problems I have see with the tst's is that they like to throw cam/crank sensor codes and fuel rail codes. The smarty is the way to go, it puts all the programmers to shame, and with the new revo/tnt updates it will be a while until the other can even catch up.

I think i had 1 camsfaft code with the tst since i had it and i re-seated the connectors and never had the problem again. Never had a rail psi code though...

The first box on my truck was the tst and when Smarty came out I ran it with the early s/ws. With the newer s/ws the tst just isn't needed any more. I have the early model tst and took it off to simplify things and to get rid of the codes.

Well, I got the Smarty and tried a number of different settings and I have to say, it does not even come close to my TST.

I dont know if this is because my truck is a Calif S. O. model or what but the power is just not comparable to the TST, but one thing I did notice is the smoothness in acceleration with the smarty

If, the TST had torque management/delete, I would prefere it over the Smarty. (ability to change on the go).

Only for flat out kills. Othewise, Smarty has the "thumbs up" .

daytripper, something is wrong. what software version are you running? Thanks

I just recieved the unit Thursday and it said it was updated before it was sent to me and says it has the Revo. Software version S06_V414A_DR11S. SMT

I am definetely open to any suggestions from you, Like I said in my earlier post I like the smooth response in off idle acceleration but other than that it cant come close to my TST and I dont even run the high settings on the TST

I think Bob's right. While I haven't run the Revo software yet, and I don't have a TST, I can't fathom it not "kicking butt. " Put the Smarty together w/TST and you have a tough combo. Again, that last statement is based on my discussion w/Mark, who owns TST. I bought my Smarty at the TST HQ.

I wonder if it has anything to do with my truck being a Calif S. O. motor?

Anyone else here running a smarty on a 03 Calif S. O. motor? And if so what settings are you running

P. S. this thing SMOKES like a refinery burning with this Smarty is there a way to calm that down a bit too, at least when I smoke with the TST I feel the power along with it.

Keep the response coming and Bob Wagner if you have any ideas i would like to try them.

I am going to go out a dink with this some more and try some more options
