One quick glance at his description and a RED FLAG pops up! He claims to "reverse the flow" to obtain a second filtration event! Sounds like he just washed the contaminants off of the filter media and recontaminated his potential fuel. Filtration only works one direction. Just my HO. GregH

I think the writer ment that he moved the inlet to the finish tank and refiltered it.

I got your message and read the story

I dont see any problems with doing this like he said its will start hard cold this can be taken care of with an chemical to get it to burn.



the filtering sounds like he is doing great on that so all in all he found a way so save some green.



This is great and if I get time I will be doing some thing like this for the farmers/ ranchers in this area. at 4. 00 dollars red dye is not making it for them but for around 2. 50 to 2. 75 then you have a fuel they might make it on.



This high fuel cost is the falt of our Govt "THEY" let this happen.



ON THE OPEN MARKET YOU CAN BUY AND SELL CRUDE OIL AND NEVER PAY FOR IT YOU ONLY NEED 6% TO HOLD THE OIL THE REST IS ON LOAN TO YOU.

DO YOU KNOW WHO SET IT UP THIS WAY AND WHY????



THE US GOVT AND IT WAS DONE FOR ENRON SO THEY COULD BUY AND NEVER PAY FOR IT THE JACKED UP THE COST MADE BILLIONS AND THEN PAID NOTHING FOR IT.

i have run a mix of 50/50 diesel and waste oil in my 99 Ram with no problems. i did find that in the cold weather the mixture thickens and the fuel pressure drops so now i only run it in the summer. i have also thought of running a mix of waste oil and k1, a friend has a Ford (powerjoke)and a Jeep with a 4bt and he runs the waste oil and k1 and they run good on it and the k1 thins the oil.

i don't think it would be a problem as long as it was filtered good, and since it waste oil is it regular dino or synth or mixed. i believe burning synth is bad juju there really is not much of a real dino in it... . or am i off base here, but it is a good idea anyway... .

What about the oil though? I read this:

"I have a guy deliver the waste oil to me at a price of $1 per gallon. He has his own business picking up waste oil. It eliminates the need to run around to a lot of service stations myself.

That oil is a mixture of various engine oil weights but also including gear oil, transmission oil, gasoline & various shop cleaners. Shops put everything & anything thats hazardous all in one barrel, you won't find them separating this stuff. So the question is:

I been doin the same thing for the last year in my truck. No problems yet. Most shops don't dump bad stuff in with the drain oil. Chlorinated brakeclean is the worst stuff that could go in. It literally tears a pump up. It corrodes the aluminum and pits the shiny metal. Otherwise, it's all flammable material an nothin to worry about. Different weight oil, synthetics, and whatever all else never seemed to affect my truck. I'll tell anybody, if it's flammable petrol base product, it's potential fuel for my truck.

Most shops don't dump bad stuff in with the drain oil.

I guess I am not most then cuz I don't know what else to do with it.

We have two containers in our shop- coolant and everything else.

If I pull a fuel filter from a gas car, I use the oil drain to catch it. If I flush out a brake system, in goes the brake fluid. If I spray down a rear brake drum backing plate with brake clean I pull the oil drain under it.

I am not saying it wont work or is bad, just not sure what is left at the top when you let it settle.

I know water goes to the bottom but what about the other chemicals?

every one of my oil changes goes right out of the drain pan (clean) and through a funnel into the fuel tank, done it for years with no problems. 5 gallons into a 1/2 tank of fuel makes a blue haze, but so what.

Interesting to know, thats like 7 parts diesel to1 part oil, where this guy is running 1 part diesel to 3 parts oil. . so his must really smoke on the equipment.

In the truck its 2-1 ratio but still allot of oil.
