I was pulling out of a salebarn yesterday and the truck sorta popped when it shifted from 1st to 2nd. A couple seconds later the CEL came on. I was going up a slight incline and I now believe I know what "limp mode" is. I couldn't break 2000rpm and had 1/2 power at most. Truck kept going and finally revved over 2K, but it wouldn't shift past 3rd (I think). I pulled over and checked the Insight for codes. "Transmission Control Module Malfunction" or something like that. I was loaded and in a hurry so I didn't write down the number I just cleared it. Truck ran perfect upon restart and ran fine today.

Anybody had anything similar?

... a little more on the "pop". It sounded and felt like maybe one of the cows I was hauling kick the front of the trailer and fell down. Kind of a light bang and a bump.

How heavy were you?

How many miles do you have on your '07 now?

  1. Don't know the weight exactly. Probably around 35-36K total. A decent load. :)
  2. 26,600. I should call it an '08 'cause I bought it in April of '08 and I'm almost ashamed of how low the miles are for an '07. :-laf

I was worried when I read your post but relaxed when I finished reading that you cleared the code and it disappeared. I hope it stays "disappeared. "

Those are some funny cows!

Merrick
Yeah. I haul slaughter cattle and the cows are generally old dairy cows. They're dumb. They try to stand on the walls... repeatedly. They can't quite grasp the concept of gravity and how it applies to trailers.

Cows are dumb
Pigs are dumb and stubborn
Sheep just all around suck
Goats stink
