Front Bumper?????

The powder coating just doesn't hack the rock chips..... and trying to touch it up makes it look like Fido's Hind End... ...

I had the same problem. I sand blasted mine and painted it with Rustoleum hammered paint out of a spray can this summer - RustOleum.com . It's a textured finish and looks great. It's holding up better than the powder coating did to the chips and because of the textured finish touching it up is easy.

Rocks won't chip LINE-X. In addition, you can get black or any other color you want. If you decide to do it, be sure to get the optional LINE-X Xtra product that will prevent fading.

Another vote for the Line X Xtra if you go that route. Guaranteed NOT to fade for as long as you own and you get in writing.

We have a Line-X shop in Green Bay that I highly recommend. He did an over the rail for me and does flawless work.

Krylon Fusion binds very well with the polyurethane liners, so you can paint them any color you want!!

My advice is to urethane the bumper and then paint(Fusion) to match your truck

Another vote for the bedliner applications.

My truck is mineral grey and came with a black spray in bedliner by Armaguard. This summer I took the front and rear bumpers off had them de-chromed, sandblasted and sprayed by the same company that did the bed. I could not be happier with the result. The black looks a million times better than the chrome and stands up to the abuse a whole lot better. It even survived getting intimate with a Chrysler Sebring. ;) My bumper was tweaked a little but the spray in liner still looks great.

I'm going to get my rocker panels, the lower portion of the doors and a strip around the wheel wells done in the same product but color matched next spring.

do you treat that Rhino with anything? because everything I've ever owned with Rhino brand ended up fading and looking gray and chalky

I had my bed rhino lined back in 96 thrown everything from gravel to my ex wifes body in the back:-laf, Just kidding about the ex wife. All I got to do is wash it out and it looks good not as bright as shiny as the pic on this post but it's still black and I bet a armor all rub down will shine it right up. No tears or peels on it either. when i redo the truck I/m gonna get it put on top of the bed

It was along time ago but I remember the guy saying something about different colors one would turn grayish. He had done it to his truck and thats what happened to his. mine is still black. If I remember I will try to clean off a spot and take a picture for ya

Really? I love mine. 12 years of crap in the back on the only spot that got messed up was when I was picking up a 4 in 1 bucket in the guy with the fork lift slid it on top of a 10 penny nail I had missed when i cleaned out the bed put one scratch in it and that was it. I always thought the linex was too thin and would not hold up. What are you using now? When I get the truck re painted in a year or so I want to bring the liner up over the top of the bed.

really... I've never had a bed done... but the LineX in my current 98 12v is worlds better than the Rhino in my old 98 12v that was gray and had a big ol' gouge in the bed. Now, I have gouged my LineX also, so I can't really fault Rhino for that. But the LineX has stayed blacker than either of the trucks I've had with Rhino in them.

the '04 I bought had rhino in the bed and on the rockers. The rockers were a different color because they were done at a different time. neither were black anymore.

The Permatech I had sprayed on my toolbox almost 5yrs ago looks black as night and shines like new money. unfortunately the only Permatech dealer in TX closed their doors a while back because I've got an '06 Mega Cab that I want to have a spray-in liner done but don't really like any of my options :(

I just did the front bumper, rear bumper and nerf bars with DIY Herculiner. I would have had them professionally done if I had had time and money. I am very happy with the way they turned out. Don't know if it will have the longevity of Line-X, but looks and feels good right now. To keep spray in liners and most other non metal looking like new I use 303 AeroSpace protectant.

I did my rocker panels with the herculiner and have been pretty happy with it. I has faded a bit in the 2 years since the application, however according to the manufacturer it is a simple project to reapply and I intend to do this once I build running boards for the truck, I will also apply it to the front and rear reunell bumpers once they are purchased. The info provided below about the powder coatings is very interesting. I had assumed that the powder coatings would hold up much better than what everyone is reporting... ..... That effectively sealed my decision with the bumpers and the running boards
