Things have slowed down so much in the oilfield I didn't think I was ever going to get over 200k. Got a decent run yesterday and when I got home last night, really early this morning, I had 200,308 miles on my odometer. I still believe this is the right truck for the type of work I do. The combined gross wt of the load yesterday was about 27k and I averaged 11. 69 mpg over the 600 miles of the run. If I can remember how, a picture of the odometer and truck and trailer are below.

I look forward to the same, but at 15K per year avg. It will be long into the future for me. I'm glad to hear from you again, if it wasn't for your early posts/reports on the 6. 7 CTD I probably would not have my C&C. As hard as you work yours, it has been relatively trouble free. I'm sure you need the break in work, (but not the loss of income) it sure seemed you were always on the road when oil was at $150. 00 barrel. I Look forward to more posts of your C&C experiences. I love my C&C, and look forward to the next trip, when I can take a long trip. I only use it for HVAC service now and with the RV industry in the pits I haven't been able to use it in that capacity. The tow mode, and service mode is why I looked for a reliable heavy duty 1 ton truck, and is why I followed your threads from the very beginning

Congratulations, EB. You are probably the nationwide mileage leader with a 6. 7 Ram.

Sorry to hear about the oil industry slowdown but like every economic event in America, someone's bad fortune always means the opposite effect on the fortunes of others. Our lower priced diesel fuel is the cause of your slowdown.

There is no RV transport industry for you to try but what about general cargo hotshotting? You have a truck and trailer that could easily perform that service.

I wish you the best.

Great EB! You better submit that pic to Robin so you can get your 200k mile license plate. ;)

I'll have to get to 400k, already have the other 3.

I doubt I'm the leader in mileage. I know of several that have as much if not more miles than I do.

As far as general cargo, if I had a sleeper I might give it a go, but I don't see how it would work out having to pay a motel every night, besides, I'm getting to old for that. I like my own bed.

EB,

You better not put 250k on your truck because Obama is killing tax breaks for earners over $250,000 and for Dodge trucks driven over 250k. Ha.

Good luck with your truck. How many miles do you normally run before oil changes?

Why is there black tape in the general vicinity of your CEL??? :-laf

I'm at 53,500 with 6 weeks to go before it hits a year old.

I think that tape is EB's reminder to service his emission's control equipment to ensure it is working at peak efficiency.

:cool:EB... ... .

Im sure you get a lot of questions about service intervals, but... ... .

Did you check the Valve Lash at 150K or?

Anything else you could share would be nice.

Thanks

Actually the valve lash was adjusted at 131k when the head gasket was needlessly replaced. I posted numerous times about this. The problem I was having was a leaking egr cooler. This was all discussed about a year ago, I believe last May. You can go back to my previous posts and read about it if you like. As far as service intervals go, I don't talk much about that. What I do and what other people do will probably differ greatly, and I really don't wish to argue about it. What I do obviously works in my situation, (first Dodge was sold with 419k miles, second Dodge was sold with 345k miles and the present truck has over 211k on it, and all three are still running and working) I will tell you I use oil analysis and extended drain intervals and synthetic oil. If you wish to know more, PM me and we'll talk about it.
