Where would you Pull? The track is closed. Even Blair's pull D) at the park won't get a sled there. And the track is closed too! There is no place to pull. Get the picture?

Uhh, no place to pull... . isn't there some big facility just north of Las Vegas where there were pulls 2 years ago? You know, the place where you'll be drag racing that weekend... ...

"Isn't there" or there is? I don't think the organizers have anything against pulling. If it's that important to you, and you know the ins/outs, do some leg work for them. It's an all volunteer outfit, and help would be appreciated, I'm sure!

Mr. Gheen, all we need are $8000 for the sled and money to rent a facility for the event. If you can get us those little things, we will have sled pulls. Love for pullers isn't the problem. Getting the above stuff and some pullers are the issues. In general, we NEVER have gotten more than a couple pre-registrations by pullers. They show up if they feel like it and then look around to see that everything is ready for them. Huge risk for the event. What if we did find all the resources, and no pullers happened to show up?

Thanks for the explaination Joe, you make various good points and I definately don't have $8K to dish out for an event. Hopefully in the future you will hold another sled pull cuz I thought your last one in '07 was a great event, oh wait, maybe that's cuz I won!Oo. :-laf

Last spring Bob and I went up to Amargosa Valley and checked out the "Death Valley Speedway" where the promoters there wanted us to do some sand drag and sled pulling. We found that the place was beyond primative and would not be a good place to hold such events. At the time they were running circle track cars on their grounds. They had to bring in water, electricity for lights, bleachers and the whole nine yards for any event they held. There was a major issue with dust!!! Fine power like dust!!! We took pictures of the place for future reference. Also, the signs on the highway that were there to direct traffic to the facility were non-existant. I don't know if they put out the signs when an event was coming up or what, but we had to stop and ask folks where this place was. Maybe someday they will have the facility up and running on a permanent basis. Next would be the problem of $$$$$
