My truck is dead! Won't start at all. I tried to start it about an hour after getting home, and no go.

Have a code set P0336 Crankshaft Position Sensor

Is this as simple as replacing the sensor? Or should I also look for anything else? Truck has 170,000 miles.

I noticed for the last week or two that the starter seemed to turn over slower than normal. It would take 2-3 seconds to start. This engine usually starts almost instantly. I checked battery cables / connectors and had both batteries tested. All seems good.

I see the sensor is down behind the starter. Any unusual problems with replacing it?

Thanks for any help.

While you are near the crank sensor there is a sensor ground near by its worth taking it apart to clean and tighten it,temperature works that ground loosening and rusting it.

I would toss a starter contact kit in too while the starter is out, they are not expensive or difficult and with 170k it will need it soon anyway.
