I was experiencing low boost, high egt's (1,350), low mileage, anyway, the local performance shop talked me into a turbo, also put a new map sensor on; my truck is my daily driver, pull some loads of hay and a 4-horse living quarters trailer, mid-50's so I dont' drag race or off-road

put on HTB2/62 STREET STOCK 12CM-62MM, the sound is amazing!!! the performance is amazing!

Just turned 190k miles, left the shop pulling my flatbed empty, got a load of hay, the trip home the rig weighed 34,100 lbs.

empty running 70 mph egt's 8-900* 4 lbs boost

heading south through Oklahoma Arbuckless (hills) and a 20 mph headwind locked out of OD 65 mph and 100* outside, egt's 1,050-1,200*, boost 20-30 lbs

flat, no wind, in OD, 100* outside, 75 mph egt's 1,150-1,250, boost 15-19 lbs

looks like it added a little over 1 mpg to fuel mileage, can make 40+ boost, set boost alarm to 40#'s (won't hear it often) and egt's to 1,250*, rapid cooldown when hit by letting off the throttle slightly

I'm very happy and thought I'd share

Oo. it sure is, I haven't given my wife a ride yet so all prayers would be appreciated, she drives a stock 6. 0 Powerjoke, although she admits my dodge will outpull her ford it's noisy and uncomfortable, She just thought it was noisy beforeOo.

first ride!!

just gave her her first ride (a short one) pulling hay weighing about 30,000 lbs total, showed off a little, she said it sounded like a jet, I told her it was a "husband" turbo, she asked what that meant and I told her just a little touch of the throttle and I couldn't hear a word she was saying!!!!

we pulled in the drive and she said "your new "husband" turbo gave me a headache and I'm going to bed", guess she got the last laugh !!!!

guess I'll sit on the couch and see if I can remember how to change my signature since nothing else is happening around here this evening

Just Curious... . how much did the turbo cost and what supplier did you get that turbo from? Sounds like your performace shop nailed the low power problem you had and you're wife likes the low performace Ford over the racing Cummins.

turbo was just under $1,700 w/o installation, had one a little smaller that was $200 less but I felt with that kind of investment spend the extra 15% and get a little more air, also it took a new turndown that was $150, (kinda of like getting a Goerend vs. a stock rebuild transmission). got it from Texas Performance Diesel in Emory Tx and very impressed with them

my wife likes the ride and room of the Ford as she's always been a Ford fan, since we've spent $6,000 in repairs on it since Feb. (warranty ended in Dec. ) she doesn't like it as much.

she's only 4' 10" tall so when riding in the Dodge her feet won't touch the floor and her leg's got to sleep. I bought her a little step stool at WalMart to put her feet on but theat didn't go over too well either:-laf

I have a lot of fun with her height as I'm 6' 1", it gets pretty interesting when we trim the trees in the yard so that we can walk under them:)

yes, it was funny!!! Used to live in Kansas and moved to Tx 1 1/2 years go so I email my old friends periodically about why we love Texas9mostly because we can ride year round) , when I go see my kids & grandkids I usually bring a load of alfalfa back as they don't raise it here and we still feed it to our horses (we rope) and I sell enough hay to pay for the fuel on the trip

Anyway, sent the following to my Kansas friends today. The story is true, we'd been looking for an old car to run around town in! happened yesterdayOo.

WHY WE LOVE TEXAS (part 2)

Driving around town running errands in a 04" Ford dually powerstroke or a 01' Dodge dually cummins diesel, expensive

Looking for a $3,000 to $5,000 used car (probably another Cadillac) as a run around car

Finding a 1993 Mercedes Sedan, immaculate condition with 144,000 miles (needs tires)

Trading for the Mercedes for 45 bales (yes 45 bales) of Kansas alfalfa "PRICELESS"View attachment 72963
