I have read this thread on and off since it was original posted. I went and bought a set of Michelin M/S2 tires in April of 2011, from Discount tires. I too wanted the 70 K mileage warranty from Michelin.

I have since put over 10K miles on the tires towing my 5er this summer and with normal driving on them, in all types of spring/summer weather. So far I have no complaints with them, waiting to see how they handle in the winter weather. I have notice that the tires will break loose under hard accelerations from a stop light. I do have a heavy foot once in awhile.

Same here, have 1500 miles on my new M/S2's on the 2nd gen.

They break loose quite easily in spite of the 600lbs. of cement patio blocks in the rear.

Will get the test tomorrow, 5"-9" of wet, heavy, slippery snow coming right at us.

First significant snowfall of the season coupled with the holiday traffic should make it quite the commuting event... ... :D

Sorry, to hear about the snow fall at Thanksgiving time. They are forecasting no rain and in the 60's for us. We will pay for this I know sometime this winter. In the Chicago area there is a saying; if you do not like the weather now. Wait for 24 hours it will change and you may not like it cause it could be even worse.

Jeff, that is what I am looking at as well. Either the AT3's or the ST Maxx's. I know the Maxx's are more aggressive, but I am not sure it would matter too much. I am sticking with the stock tire size and the extra bite would be nice while in the backcountry.

Can you take a picture of the tires on your truck. Makes it a little nicer to judge what they look like on the rig. Heck, even the Zeon's look pretty nice too. Cooper seems to have a nice line up of LT tires. Scotty

Jeff, those tires look great. Seems like Cooper has a bunch of great choices. What do you think of the tires so far? Scotty

Sounds good. Hopefully I can get my Michelins through the Winter here and then buy tires next Fall. I really don't wanna spend the money on new tires right now. Plus, these tires still have around a 1/4" of good tread left so I am hoping they will continue to serve well. It will be a tough order for a tire to beat them though. They are likely to have over 70K on them before they are done. Scotty
