Check your local laws first. I don't know about MT, but around here you can't tint the driver side window as dark as the rest. The troopers want to see who and or what is inside even if the window is up.

I think thats pretty much the standard throughout the country but I will lead the life of the desperado and take my chances anyway. When I have been pulled over by police I do them the courtesy of rolling my windows down and putting both hands out the window (all that are in the car) . ALL officers that have pulled me over have said THANKS To us for doing that they have a pretty dangerous job and I dont need to get shot for it.

I've heard that LLumar is good quality, that is what a lot of the pro shops install.

Mr. Nasty I have a little bit of experience with tinting not much but I think it's worth passing on.
I have had tinting done on the driver and passenger side of one of my hot rods. it wasn't done limo dark maybe a shade or two darker than what comes stock on the back windows of our third-generation trucks . one of the first things I noticed what's the lack of visibility at night. the dark tinting hidden objects that you would have normally have seen. I found myself rolling down my windows to check my side mirrors just to make sure I knew what I was looking at. about two weeks later I took tinting off.
Now for my truck I just got the back glass tinted to the same shade as the backseat passengers door glass. the driver and passenger side windows were done very lightly with a UV blocking tint. I cannot remember if all of the tint has the same UV blocking characteristic or it just the driver and passenger tint. I would have to go back and look at the paperwork and see. I am very pleased with it and you can really tell the UV blocking stuff works. I hope this helps you out.

Both my trucks were Lumar tint, this one is. 50%, my last one was 35%, I would do 35% over 50, only roll my windows down at night if I have to back up a trailer, with my 55w CAT backup lights visibility isn't much of a problem and I can see traffic coming at night with out a problem.

SunTek CXP is the best I have ever used. A local shop installs it and I have it in all 3 of my street cars, including the Ram. Legal limit on front sides, limo on Quad windows and back (legal in AZ).

Very good points about the looking in the mirror at nite I didn't really think of that. I have looked on the web there are so many different kinds that is the reason that I posted this. Thanks for your thoughts and replies. Son had his done in So Calif and it's turned Purple and looks like crap. Others have said the same companies as your posts were good to go with.

I had my last truck tinted dark. 3rd night after the tint, in the rain, I swung the left front fender into a black I-beam that a sign was mounted on while backing out of a parking place.

My current truck is at the legal limit.

Ya im not looking for the darkest tint we mainly just want something that when traveling neither one of us is sitting in the sun baking the side of our face or legs it really doesn't get that hot in Montana just to keep the sun off.

The daughters car had tinted widows. Whenever I drove it I cussed those windows as it drastically cut my vision especially at night and trying to see anything using any mirror on the car was a game of Russian Roulette. Now at 58 my night vision is cut anyway and the tint just aggravated the problem. The day finally came when the tinting started to separate from the glass and I had to steam and razor blade the tint off. It was not an easy job as it was very time consuming but now I can clearly see out the factory tinted windows.

I know this thread is a year old, but I've had 3M tint on my truck for nearly 5 years and it is in perfect condition. I put it on my Excursion 2. 5 years ago and it has held up just as well. I highly recommend it, as did my installer.
