I'm looking at buying a 2007. 5 Dodge diesel 4x4 with VIN:3D7MX38A97G798876. Is there anywhere or anybody that I can tell what the VIN numbers tell me? It's not listed in my older manuals. Thanks, Herb

Good morning Mike, That's a great question. It's an hour and a half drive from me to see it. It's posted on Portland Craigslist. Look for "Dodge diesel red" as a search. I hope to go later this week, drive it around and make an offer. I'm a red truck lover and that truck is red and the Sport model like mine. Your Mega cab is my real dream want but I just can't invest that much of my savings at this time. How do you like the Mega cab? I wonder what else is different on Canadian models? It could be a Godsend without a lot of EPA additions. I love the looks of the truck. I hope to find out.

I do love the Mega Cab, it is the best truck ever. The interior room surprises anyone that gets in the back seat.



I know some time back it was a big thing for the dealers to bring used pick-up trucks into Maine from New Brunswick to sell as the exchange rate at the time made it an attractive proposition. They changed the speedo's legally to MPH and sold them as former Canadian units.

Now in that case all of the paperwork had been properly done.



In your case I would want to see the title, if the truck has already been titled in Oregon or elsewhere in the States you should be good. If it has not then you had better do some checking and see what it will take to title it in the USA. This is just something that I would be worried about before I handed over any cash. It's my nature... ...



I just wonder what it is doing on this side of the line if it was built to Alberta specs. Maybe somebody moved and brought the truck with them... .

Mike, It's at South Commercial Sales in Salem, Oregon and not a megacab. Try the search as "Dodge diesel red salem". I just saw it. They also just raised the price by $1500 from when I first saw it on there. I'm still interested by they would have to lower the price again. Herb

Be aware that being a canadian truck there will be no warranty coverage once it has a us registration. It has not had the j35 recall done yet. Be careful
