After my DPF replace and EGR replace took a solo drive from salt lake city to portland. or. have that 60 gal replacement tank and went almost non stop. . even over 2 mountain ranges and valleys, and 839 miles later, the overhead showed 20 mpg even. I know it is not that much but it is cool. . i also have a 17 gal tank in the bed as well as 2 , 5 gal cans... should make another half tank.

Contaminated fuel wasn't the cause of my breakdown. . just the DPF plugging up. . I think the main cause was my driving style and maybe the sensors for the DPF. . Truck running fine.

Just saying fuel cans are risky..... as are metal tanks that can rust
Bob,
Eric and I talked when he had his issues, he has a very elaborate" trans tank" setup, I don't recall extra filtration but have to believe w/ all the different lines, tanks and pumping he has taken that into account. My head started hurting when he was telling me about the sys, I am a simple kind of guy, fewer parts the better, after all I only have 10 things to do math with

It took some time, thought and knowledge to make.

I get it though, steel= rust... I have yet to see any coating that will not rust!

Just got back after 1944 miles round trip. . on the way up I was seeing 20 mpg to Portland. . after the next day, truck went to regen and after draining the 17 gal tank and filling the main tank. averaged 17. 49 mpg. . That was 950 miles of driving. . Then I filled up after 500 miles and averaged 16. 9. . Note I went over 2 mountain passes in Washington and Oregon. . Was going faster last night to hurry home and the overhead after a regen, went to 17. 5. . so around 16. 5 mpg in 1900 miles. . not bad. . sometimes was as fast as 75 but usually averaged 65.

Went 839 miles the first day and the 60 gal got down to a 1/4 tank. . not bad.

Fuel Mod System is only 6 months old. . and the dealer said Fuel was clean when the breakdown happened. . also my mod did not void warrantee
I have 2 yellow plastic fuel cans and a 17 gallon plastic tank I strap into the bed. . All there is to the extra tank is a hose with a primer squeeze bulb to the 60 gal underneath. . The whole Aero 60 gal tank top to bottom has 2-3 coats of the bed liner material covering the tank so if the tank rusts, it will be from the water in fuel... and the truck is using the stock pickup for the fuel delivery. . Gonna keep this system like it is. . not bad range empty or loaded. .
