I drove from Surprise,Az to Flagstaff and back Saturday. It was a total of 304 miles. I hand calc'd it at 17. 5 MPG and the truck said I had a average of 19. 1, per the odometer trip meter. This was empty, 2 passengers etc.

The road to Flagstaff, I-17 goes from 1200' elevation in Phoenix/Surprise to 6000+ elevation in Flagstaff. This includes 6% grades, up down etc.

So far I'm impressed with the mileage and the truck, aside from the pet peeve I have with Chrysler corp. .

Sorry. forgot all about that. Most of the way there and back, the speed limit which is 75. 77 on occasion.

My 2012 Dually 2WD got 16. 1 on the very first trip at about the same speed you were driving, mine was an 850 two day trip, it had 13 miles on it when I started, it is a 2 WD so I think that helps, but yours isn't bad.

RonD, My max tow 2012 4x4 CC dually only seemed to get 13-16 all around. So this is a big jump. My 2005 3500 4x4 6spd cc 4:10's would get 18+ if I kept the rpm's at or under 2k empty.

Whats the pet peev with Chrysler Corp.

Not to speak for him, but we have discussed this on another thread so I am familiar with the issue. .

His truck was not ordered with flip-out tow mirrors and RAM is saying that the truck can not be re-fitted with the tow style as the standard mirror control module in the truck will not accept the upgrade. Maybe at some point in the future it will be possible.

These new wiring systems are not designed to accept change... .....

Mine gets in the 13-16 range also, I was just referring to a single empty trip, most of the time it has a 14k+ 5th wheel on the rear and averages about 10-11, fuel economy wasn't what I bought it for

I didnt buy mine for economy either. All my plans got cancelled in Nov last year. So I had to buy a "all around truck" instead of a single purpose vehicle.
