I noticed with the new forum format change, my last name is now visible under my profile name. How do I remove it - I can't locate where that personal info is at in my profile settings.

TIA!

Instead of flooding them with calls, how bout we change the default to hidden?

Maybe a forum link/signup or email so PM's don't get overwhelmed.

The last names were under the forum names years ago. I honestly didn't know that they had gone away for a while.

Human error. It will be fixed. We should have suppressed the last names, but we missed it when we tested the change.

Yes, we are making changes to the forums. We are trying to streamline the website for ease of use and maintenance - concurrent with testing a new digital magazine format that will be more user friendly (downloadable, printable, etc. ). We hope to offer Issue 82 (due out in November) to TDR Members in the new format.

Additionally, we want to utilize more of the functions that vBulletin offers, especially in light of the number of users accessing the website using mobile technology. Unfortunately, this requires we eliminate much of the customization we've done in the past.

I sincerely apologize for missing the last names. We will get that fixed.

Post any other glitches you see. We'll address them promptly.

Grizzly, I'm not sure why you'd suggest flooding us with calls since, as far as I can remember, a simple courteous request to fix an issue has always worked in the past. And if the change couldn't be made, I believe we've always tried to explain the reason. I think our Country - and perhaps the internet - could benefit from a little common courtesy, tolerance, and respect for others. (Stepping off of my soapbox now. )

Thank you for your understanding.

No apology needed Robin. Thousands of details to look for during an upgrade, you can't catch them all, and it's always the little things.

We appreciate you and your teams efforts to keep the website up and running smoothly.

X2!!!!!

I suffer through the various upgrades at work, the defaulting of settings after the upgrade and the tedious task of tweaking everything so that it will once again work correctly.

I can say in all the time that I have been a member here I have posted my name, my e-mail address and phone number many times and have never had anything bite me in the rear as a result.

However if you are behind the spam that I get for Viagra, Russian Mail Order Brides and the million of dollars that I can have if I only send them 5,000. 00 then all I can say is keep'um coming. You never know when I might need to use them... ... ... :D

Mike.

Love the post, mwilson! I'm at the office for a few hours, and you made me laugh out loud!

Thank you all for your support.

Same here, as far as TDR, a higher station of individuals...

On other sites, I have experienced some questionable behavior by some members, kind of like the old CB days when a car load of riffraff would show up at your 20, with God know's what on their mind... You learn in a hurry not to broadcast/advertise daily routines, vacations, etc, lest you want to invite trouble. That's my beef with Facebook and why I'll never participate, doesn't make sense to let the world know your every move. Jess

Yes. I agree.
Regarding the site, I usually check in via "mobile device" and I thought the system had crashed or something like that. I started to realize what was going on, and it started working like an "app" I have no problem with it, I just wish "what's new" would show more topics. I don't know if that is adjustable, or if traffic was down this weekend.
In any event, thanks, ADMIN for the hard work!

Wayne, you can still opt to view the full site through your phone. Then if you go to the quick links icon you can pull up "todays posts" which will show more than just the recent posts. I'm not much of a fan of the v bulletin? app for the mobile phones, I prefer the full site.

I agree. I've used my real name ever since Robert purchased this forum from the original owner; however, it's the only forum I participate in that I use my real name. I was registered under a "handle" (CB term) on the forum when it was under the previous owner. Years ago at a TDR Rally when Robert announced his purchase, we were discussing the forum and he mentioned that he would like for everyone to use their real names. At that time I changed to using my real name. I have a very" tight" spam blocker and so far don't get those annoying messages selling Viagra, Russian mail order brides, and/or get rich schemes nor has anyone appeared at my doorstep un-invited.
