my clutch started slipping at around 15k. of course the dealer told me to crap in my hat and wear it. I now have 66k on it and im getting some feedback through the clutch pedal in neutral and when shifting. It almost feels like a light pulse pushing back in the pedal. when I got home and shut the truck down( with clutch engaged like always) the transmission jolted violently and sounded like it was shut down without the clutch engaged. I've been putting off having a SBC installed but I guess I have to now. Hopefully the transmission is ok. I serviced the transmission about 10k ago with syncromesh. wonder if it will make the drive up to Massdiesel?

Sounds like more then the clutch, probably the dual mass flywheel going out too...your concers about more damge to the transmission are valid, best get it taken care of it sooner then later, since you wil have to do it anyway. I LIKE the SBC single disk clutch in my truck, had it for 3 years now.

I second the single disk, but mine had to be the SBC DD 3250 (dual disk) because the regeneration on my ECM will surge the RPM's that took out my OEM clutch. If I'm ever able to delete the truck I convert to a SD.

Got a couple thousand miles on mine since new clutch and got rid of the dual mass flywheel, clutch still working great, transmission still quiet, the only time i hear anything is if you lug it in 3rd gear, but it is no louder than when i had original in it, so far am satisfied, have been hauling loads with it too no slipping anymore either,Monte
