After checking the fuse panel for my 13 truck I found that they are not the same as my 04 had, The -04s were the Mini fuse the new truck is much smaller. My local NAPA store did not know anything about the smaller fuse. Where is a good place to find them:"?

I found some one selling assortments on E Bay. I have yet to find fuse taps or equivalent for stealing power though. The fuses are still pretty scarce

I installed a Painless fuse block on mine. Wanted to NOT tap into any of the OEM fuses and cause issues with the Puter.

Since I run Ham radio equipment in mine, and was concerned about the computer also, I ran a pair of #4 welding cables from the battery up under the drivers seat. i installed 2 fuse blocks,( with mini fuses) one is hot all the time. The other is keyed through a relay for ignition on power. I am keying the relay off the switched lighter plug since I didn't have a fuse tap.
I am not familiar with the painless fuse block. Where can I get more info??

Geno's Garage sells them; I bought one for my 08 to run the Air compressor for the air bags. Here is the link for Geno's do a search for them on the site.

Thanks for both links. Don't know how I would have missed that in Geno's catalog.. It is basically what I built for my truck.. Could have saved some work

I used the Painless fuse block from Genos on both my trucks. Simple install, works great and isolates any 12v issues from your EXPENSIVE vehicle computer.

More fuse questions

I have been slowly building my boonie box with the items that I feel I want along with me just in case... I stopped by the Dodge dealer today and ordered a micro relay for the PDC and I ordered some micro2 fuses last night from The Electric Depot. I thought that the other fuses were standard fuses, but alas that is not the case. The larger fuses are low profile JCASE fuses. Ram has installed 30, 40, 50 and 60 amp Low Profile JCASE fuses in the PDC. These fuses seem to be widely available everywhere. That brings me to the other size fuse that I can't seem to find anywhere nor is it even listed anyplace I've checked so far. I'm hoping that some one on here has located them and can share this information on the specs for this fuse with the rest of us. I didn't check with the dealer parts department yet as I was under the impression that the smaller fuse was also a JCASE fuse. So has anyone had to replace one of the smaller fuses in the picture below? Ken Irwin

Found this over on the Cummins Forum. Thanks to Mangas for the research. I understand that they are on national back order. Think I'll have my dealer order one of each and see if they are the correct one. Mangas is not sure that they are not an Mcase cartridge fuse by Littlefuse. Ken Irwin

"The 20 amp replacement mini fuse part number is 6820 2896 AA"
"The 30 amp replacement mini fuse part number is 6814 4653 AA"

I ordered one of each today. According to my Ram parts guy they are available in the system. We'll see in a couple of days. Ken Irwin

Saitta Trudeau Chrysler in Pahrump has some, and has the rest on order. I will check O'Reilly next time I am in the vicinity. Maybe Geno's will carry them.

Well I got the 20 amp fuse in from my parts department tonight. The other one is not in yet. Anyway part number 68202896AA is a 20 amp M case fuse. It has the LF for Little Fuse brand name right on the plastic. So I paid $4 for a fuse that can be had from The Electric Depot for $3.98 for a pack of 5. I assume that the other part number is the 30 amp version but we will have to wait and see. I also bought 5 of each size Micro2 fuse form The Electric Depot. So we have three different "styles" of fuses in our PDCs. The smallest fuses are Micro2 fuses in every size available except 7.5 Amp. Note that only one Micro2 30 amp fuse exists in my truck, but it's the fuel pump motor, so its a pretty important one. The next larger size is an M Case fuse in 20 and 30 amp ratings in my truck and there are several of these. The largest size fuses are low profile J Case fuses and they exist in 30, 40 and 60 amp versions in my truck. I also ordered one of the micro relays as a spare from Ram. They are part number 68200229AA. See the pictures below.

Ken,

The larger fuses are the Bussman FMX low profile series, which you have in your lower picture. The smaller fuses are the Bussman FMM series. Just doing some cursory web searches, the FMX fuses seem to be readily available, but the FMM fuses not so much. Here is a link to Cooper/Bussman's website for these fuses:

Tim that's what I finally figured out. The Little Fuse version is the Mcase fuse. I guess the Bussman version is the FMM version. Thanks Ken Irwin
