The other "Where is my truck? " thread has grown to several pages. Too much to follow.

So, who will be first to take delivery?

I know TDR Writer John Holmes' truck actually shipped yesterday. His took 12 days of "shipping" status at the Ram vehicle order tracking (VOT) board. Mine currently shows shipping as it went through "Final Inspection" yesterday.

Others?

Robert Patton

I have been reading this post and the other one "Does anyone Have" and if it takes Ram this long to build and ship a 1500 eco diesel, how long will it take to get the first part that fails???? I think I will wait a couple of years to consider buying one and just drive my 2500 99 till then!!

I understand the apprehension. We'll blaze some new trails for you.

What is happening here? Did everyone figure that if even Joe bought a new Ram, and an automatic to boot, then it was time? lol. Remember, if it comes in before May Madness, you have to drive it to our event. We now have two Cummins guys coming, and at least one Chrysler guy so far has committed, two more very probable. These are all tech guys ready to help us.

My Ecodiesel has been stuck in Final Inspection for 2 weeks. I torment myself every couple hours all day long checking the website to see if the status has moved on to Shipment. Yesterday the Ram dealer in town gave me a call to say they got an Ecodiesel in. I went and checked it out but I didn't fetch a salesman and try to take it for a spin. It didn't seem right to waste their time since I'd already ordered mine from a dealer out of state. Was good to see that the Ecodiesels really do exist.

Had it been the right color and 2WD I'd have been in a helova moral dilemma. Bail on mine and snatch this one?

White Big Horn crewcab longbed 4WD is sitting here in Savannah, GA looking for a good home.

Scott, if the truck is "for sale" that seems a bit odd as I was under the impression that the first trucks built had deposits and were committed to customer orders. (Oops, answered my own concern: what is the definition of a "customer order" ?)

Regardless, mine skipped through the inspection part. Guess we'll all see how long the shipping takes. In the other post I'm thinking SHobbs still doesn't have his truck?

Re. Customer orders take priority over dealer orders. Have been grinding my teeth over that.

Re. Your truck zipped right thru inspection. *******.

Re. Shipping. From what I'm hearing there's a lot of luck involved. When there's a train going in your direction, your truck needs to be "noticed." If it's in some back lot that day/week for god-knows-what-reason, then it's not your lucky day. I'm hearing tales of folks trying to hold chaos together because demand has outstripped expectations enough to strain the normal systems. Manufacturing and Logistics are obviously complicated, a lot more complex than folks that haven't been part of it, understand. Complicated shows struggle dealing with the unexpected.

A lot of customers are getting over-excited tho. We live in such a "I want it right now" society that we don't deal with delays well. Folks need to take a deep breath and relax a bit. Stirring up stomach acids doesn't move a truck any faster. It's the customer's conscious choice to stir up their own stomach acid on the issue, then make phone calls and send emails and get others riled up too. One can just as easily choose not to get riled up about it, go get some exercise, drink a beer, pat your kid/dog on the head a few times, and let some time go buy.

True..........however, this truck was originally supposed to be out last august and lots of people have been hyped by Ram that can't seem to deliver. An earlier comment regarding parts availability was made and I'm wondering the same thing..........if they can't get a truck to market on time, will a broken new truck sit for 3 months too?

To answer the question posed at the end of the post: Yep, it might happen.

We'll blaze some new trails for you. It might not be pretty. I'm in this deal fully knowing what, or what not, to expect.

I have a Laramie on order since February, my dealer said be lucky to get late May or mid June, well that not want I wanted to hear. I really wonder what Ram folks were thinking since last year, with all there high salesmen ship? Not really a issued since I am out of country, until May Madness!

No, I do not have mine yet. I have done more this week than my salesman has, I have not heard from him since his last lie over a week ago and the general sales manager is just as bad. I am planning to go over both their heads this morning. My contact with Chrysler in Michigan has been the ONLY person to tell me where the truck is and why it is still there. I hope to hear from him today ( Friday ) that it has shipped. The part that really chaps my backside is that the salesman has access to what my contact is telling me, he is just lazy I guess. Who knows how much longer my truck would have sat in that lot up there if I had not taken things into my own hands, it's been there over two weeks already.

HPSimpson,

Stay on them about your truck. I ordered on February 7th and it was built on March 19 and released for shipping on March 24th. I hope yours does not get dumped off in some storage lot like mine did.

SHobbs,
I hope yours get's shipped yesterday by train, or by truck to Texas, and you get to drive the Ghost 1500, and enjoy the Ram 1500. Thanks for the courage to continue hopping.

My biggest complaint is simply not getting honest updates. The salesman could have been honest with me and chose not to which ticked me off and set the wheels in motion. If it ships tomorrow I hope to have it by the end of next week. Stay tuned.

FINALLY! I received the word Wednesday my truck is on the way and this time I have a rail car number. My contact in Michigan came through for me.

I will say it again, your dealer has all the information the "executive referral manager" has access to. This person is just a higher level PR contact than the ones who staff the 800 customer line. In Hobbs case they didn't do anything to speed up the process, they just relayed the same information the dealer already had.

True, the dealer did have the information they just were not telling me. I was told twice the truck was on the way and it wasn't, I had to go higher. The salesman just can't help himself he is still telling me he is watching it and told me today where the truck is. I told him to stop the run around, I know where the rail car is and if he was really watching this he would have caught it when the truck was stuck in a lot in Michigan. I also told him we both know what happened the last two times he told me, I am watching it, it's on it's way. I have no idea how much longer this would have gone on either, my contact in Michigan told me the truck should not have been where it was. When he made a call inquiring about the truck no one at what ever lot it was had a clue it was a customer order according to him. I should have the truck hopefully by Thursday if not sooner.
