I have an 05 with an 48RE that has two P1740 codes stored and won't clear. I replaced TCC solenoid pack and there is no change. I tried clearing with a code reader and tried disconnecting the battery cables to no avail. I have cleaned plugs with electronic cleaner. I don't see any nicks in the wires. Any suggestions or previous experience?

Did the TCC soleniod and OD soleniod and the VB control harness come together as one assembly???
I had to replace mine two weeks ago while doing the detent bullet, because the connector broke like potato clips in my hand.
So the wiring and connector on the trans case side are new.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I did replace the whole pack with both solenoids and wiring harness. Do you know if there is a test for the soenoids? It seems unlikely that the new solenoids are bad, but a possibility. It seems like I either have a wire or solenoid grounding, or troubles with the ECM. Any thoughts?

Does OD work? If it does then the scanner you have will not clear codes.

The code should clear unless the ECU is seeing either a short or open on that circuit. If it clears and comes back it is a wiring or soenid problem. Try checking the harness all the way up to the firewall especially where it crosses any body edges. It is a possibility the new harness or solenoid is bad but have not seen that happen.

OD does work, but TC does not lock-up. Scanner cleared other codes in the past, but not the p1740. I will look at the harness some more. I probably need to drop the pan again and take another look inside.
