I installed a 12-volt pilot light on my formerly owned '97 3500 when I installed the mystery switch. I used a double pole-double throw switch with one side of the double pole switch controlling the torque converter lockup and the other side of the double pole switch controlling the 12-volt pilot light circuit. you could accomplish the same using a LED instead of a 12-volt pilot light. The double pole switch keeps the two circuits separate.

I used a double pole foot switch like the old trucks used for headlight dim/bright,I can install a green LED on circuit not being used as per Bill's suggestion with the resistor as per Snoking. Thanks guys!
