Now tell me honestly. I know the CTD is pretty powerful, but I'm really worried that I might be overstraining it ...

Perhaps I really need duallies, lower diffs, a tuner? :)

It's a 14' (but 4 berth!) offroad van, GVWR 1600kg (3500 lb) bought to be towed by my father in law's Nissan Pathfinder.

Look at the pic hard and you won't see the steering wheel on the left side. Now I would love to see the interior of this.

Well, a certain un-named Aussie had promised us pictures of the RHD conversion and I am in high hopes that these two posts may shame him into doing so.......:D

Besides that I have another question, this is driving me just nuts...

Watch Dr Chris, Pet Vet on Saturday Mornings when grandkids stay with us. It is the same show that is called Bondi Vet on your side of the puddle. Why am I seeing LHD vehicles in some of the shots??? And they are not old, exempt vehicles either. Wonder if the producers are reversing the images in that case???

I think he already has, I remember looking at them........it could have been on the other "B" forum though.............

I didn't see if you had Furd badges on it, that would make it choke a bit on grades. I think you should at least disguise the truck, don't want to hurt its feelings.

Haha. Yes I did post some on the B forum, but also promised more and haven't yet. Consider me shamed and stand by for a week or so ...

I'm not sure but I suspect that may be what's happening. We do have a small number of LHD cars in Oz. You're right that it's getting harder and harder to get them registered so it tends to be older 'classic' models. Maybe there's an unusually high proportion in Bondi or something, but normally they're pretty rare. Eg I might spot one in traffic once a week or less, and I live in a city and given that we imported and converted my truck I tend to notice them. So if you're seeing them regularly I suspect the images are being flipped.

From the looks of your front rims you are working the brakes quite a bit though to get them dusted like that.

No, embarrassingly, that's just a reflection of how often I've washed my truck from new. Water is very scarce in Perth so we try to put up with grubby cars. Plus I'm lazy.

I've run almost exclusively unladen so far so I guess the fronts are working a lot harder than the rears. (The truck was meant to spend most of its life parked, just being used for holidays. But the amazingly accommodating guys at the underground carpark at work found me a space I can fit into, and I'm loving the truck so much I'm using it as a daily driver! Bet you guys can relate ...)

So what is the price of diesel down there? Right now in Western Canada (Alberta ) I pay about $1.05 CDN a litre. ( that's about $4 US a gal without taking the dollar difference into consideration )

There are lots of RHD vehicle up here, mostly Japanese.

Just a touch above what I'm paying in interior Alaska! Not bad considering...........When I make my visit to Australia, I wish I had a Dodge Cummins to drive!

Don

When are you going to be in Australia??? I will be down there Late August and Early Sept for 2 weeks.. Hitting some of the tourist spots and 3 days in Alice Springs for the Road Transport Hall of Fame Reunion.. 1500 to 2000 Antique / Historical trucks..
