My 2011 Laramie Megacab has the center console with storage, drink holders and such. I would like to remove the center console and install the center jump seat that folds down. Has anyone accomplished or looked into this? I have called my local dealer, it seems that it is possible, but have to order all the parts separately, and it is pretty pricey according to them. There is an old thread that address this issue on dieseltruckresource.com, but the details don't seem to be complete. I am in the need to transport 6 people on occasion in this truck and would like to have a proper seat and seat belt for a third person up front.

I am looking for manufactures, part numbers, and experience.

thank you all!

Funny I just discovered that CumminsForum has a whole bunch of guys who have gone the other way in order to convert their column shift trucks to floor shift like the 1500's. I bet there are 20 guys on there who would be happy to sell you their old parts - or trade you for your console!

I was hot trot to get the center console until I sat in one. I like to spread out while I'm driving and that cockpit feel with the center console didn't do it for me.

I would think salvage yards would have the parts at a half the cost of new.

Back when I had my '05 Silverado, I wanted to convert from the fixed center jump seat to the folding style. I found a salvage yard on ebay at the time thst had dozens of them.

I have looked around on ebay...two problems...not sure exactly what I need for the complete project and practically all the seats on ebay are gray and of course I have the beige/brown interior. Gonna call a couple local salvage yards today I hope.

If you are successful in finding a replacement seat, consider making it movable, a little any way. I have been thinking of doing this mod for a long time with my stock set up. Just need to find the adjustable runners.

I've got a similar issue. I've have searched over 150 dealership (no exaggeration) inventories for 3500s. Laramies, even though a bench seat is part of the standard Laramie package is probably 75 bucket seat trucks to 1 bench seat. Big Horns/Lone Stars is about 50 to 1.
If I get a good enough deal I'd be willing to live with the buckets until I could do a console for jump seat swap. I'm sure there are brackets and there should be some lower radio bezel changes but what about the ducting for rear a/c? My '06 has the floor console to cover that but the '14s & '15s just have the bare carpeted hump right?

My truck is a bighorn where I had it re-upholstered with Katzkin leather. The bighorn had everything I wanted minus leather seats. Glad I got bench seats, the dealer had a hell of a time finding one with a front bench they could trade for.

There are vents below the center seat:

BTW those seats look good in that Big Horn. I'm so tired of spending all day, even though its not as often as it used to be, shampooing, steam cleaning cloth seats. A Big Horn with the Luxury Group (7" EVIC, climate control) has everything I want in a truck except the leather seats. If the deal is right, I'd get one and probably do the same thing you've done.

I also prefer the center seat/console to the big center console. I've had both. In addition to the ability to transport 6 people, the storage is better than with the center console. The storage space is more useful, you get a drawer in the dash for more stuff (versus a big junk bin that everyone can see), and you have a USB port on the dash versus both of them inside the console lid. But you are right that they are hard to come by. I ordered it that way for my 2014 but I bought my 2015 off the lot and it had the console. It was almost a deal breaker. I hemmed and hawed about it for a while before I decided it would be okay.

Search eBay for the center seat/console for your truck…PLENTY of them available right now, though mostly at eBay higher prices.

Ok, new to the form and dodge. Just picked up a 3500 4x4 diesel Laramie great truck. I would like a full center console not my seat/arm rest. Can it work?

Might be that any electronics have to be added on so the BCM computer recognizes them?

Not sure what is exactly in the console, so I Don't know
