If you are willing to give up any freedom for financial gain, especially if it affects any other American, you disgust me. Sorry, buts thats just the way I am.

I totally agree.
If you however have a cell phone, youre already being tracked. Cell phones also have a gps function.

No. That's the other insurance company's deal. The health insurance cos will be peeking in on your health stats reeeal soon. And if you wear a bitbit type watch they likely already are.

No I won't let you look at my health records and I don't have a cell phone so no GPS tracking, and since I drive on this island no fear of speeding, the road is real muddy, 4x4 driving period, maybe 15 mph tops.

The problem I have with this is the government can make it law as with seatbelts and such, using it as looking out for your safety, and if your getting a discount now, you won't be then. Once they get something in, it's in for good, and they can improve on it without you knowing or allowing. All you need to do is bring it in for warrantee or servicing.

As for things like on star and u connect, they have full control over it now. They can listen in on your conversations without you knowing and shut off your vehicle if they want. This has been verified on the news.

When will the population stop allowing control over themselves and stand up and be in control of themselves ?
Isn't it enough the government has complete knowledge of your health and medical conditions, your banking, your credit .... every part of your friggin life ?

Is anyone as old as I and remember the book "1984" ???
We're there or at east at the threshold !

I tend to believe we ended up this way by way of Huxley's book "Brave new world".

We were actually required to read 1984 when I was in school.
Boy have times changed.:/

You must have esp. Its on tv tonight .

Maybe we should all just go sit it out in our air raid shelter? Just a single fear down there.

Its not a fear. Its how it can and will be used against you. It can and will be used against you to set insurance rates, if youve been in an accident (there have already been example of that happening), credit ratings, medical insurance rates, job applications, etc.

Oh that is pretty good Air Raid shelter, I would like to know where this is. Yes the insurance companies compare your health records, vehicle records, and everything else, police map are license plates, there are camera's on most highway in the Golden State recording you!

That's ridiculous. While reading this, I thought to myself them checking the phone wouldn't prove anything as there's no way to differentiate between a text typed in and one dictated hands free. According to the article though, those for this law consider voice activated texting to be equally distracting. I don't agree with that as the biggest problem is having your eyes off the road.

Like someone already mentioned, if we allow the insurance companies to collect data on our driving habits, it will forever tarnish our driving record. Sort of like stupid things people say and post on social media sites; it's there foreverrrrrrrrrr.

I think all two way radios should be not allowed also, including LEO's. It is a distraction to driving. Or at least an interface to vehicle motion. That is 2W radio only transmits when vehicle is stopped, or their is a separate radio operator in the vehicle. What is good for the goose, is good for the gander! Why are they above these laws! Washington State only says the cell phone can not be heard to your ear, as they recognize that two way radios are operated with a hand mic.
