strage transmission problem

Today my truck began to do something weird. It's a 93' with auto transmission and when I put it in gear while at a standstill the motor wants to snub as if it is under load. What could cause that?? I checked the kickdown cable and it seems to be returning to full off position and the spring is working. Any help would be appreciated! Tony

Hello, I'm assuming you already checked the fluid level idling while hot in N.

Describe " snub" like pulsate ? If that's it ,it might be vyour cruise control by passing the switch ,I had that issue once

After you check the cruise control, I would change the fluid and filter. Use the ATF+4 fluid that it calls for, don't put any Mercon fluid in it.
