Has anyone converted a military trailer tub into a truckbed on a 3rd gen? Am interested in getting maybe an M-101 A-3 trailer and going for it.
The way I understand it, the A-3 can fit a sheet of plywood between the wheelwells- The A-1 and A-2 cannot. Curious how well the wheel wells
line up with the tires on a quadcab long bed? Am still trying to locate one so I can take some measurements...

In many states California included, any pick-up with a non-stock bed has to stop at the scales. You might want to check that out before you go through all the work of changing out the bed.

Thanks, I had not heard about that before. Lot's of folks here in Idaho have factory beds removed and are running around with flatbeds or service beds. Some are bolt-on

and some are fabricated. I'll have to ask around.

I just started looking into this and am still trying to figure out which models will work. I want to not lose my 8ft length with the tailgate closed, and also have at least 48"

between the wheelwells. I read the M-1101, for example, has an aluminum body ( which would be fantastic ) but is too short.

I have seen pictures of these conversions done with some of the older body styles of Dodges and they look great. This conversion would add a lot of capability and potential to a truck.

It appears the M-715 bed is a few inches short. So far it looks like the M-101 A-3 is going to be my best candidate. The market was flooded with them in 2013.. now they seem

scarce. Am probably not looking in the right places yet. If anyone has access to one, I need the measurement from the front of the tub to top center of wheelwell.

That would be ideal for sure! Wish I had a flatbed trailer with a winch, tho. My luck- I would buy one with 2 flat tires and flaky wiring, 1000 mi from home...

I may have located some M 101 A3's in southern Cali. I have to install a Spyntec shorty in the next little while before I take any road trips.

Most of the time they don't have flat's because they want easy load and go. I am really close to the Barstow Base and Know the base real well .If anybody ever need's help Just PM me .I have been around this Green stuff all my life .I'de gladly help someone out .
