What year? The early Sport models were the same as the chrome, just painted. The '99-'02 Sport models had the larger grill and bumper that were painted. All the items are hard to find used but are available new from LMC Truck.

If you are putting this on an early 2nd Gen, '94-'97 I think, you'll need the bumper, grill, and hood latch rod. You'll also have to modify the hood and bumper mounts.

The later models will just bolt on.

Parts are going on a qQCSB Holy Grail 12 valve truck. I've painted chrome before, but results were not very good

I have a white painted sport grille from a 99 1500 (or a 98 - I need to check). With new factory frame. Will that work?

I forgot about the grille frame, you'll need that, too. It depends on whether your grill is from a '98 or '99. This is a pic of my old truck with the '99-'02 Sport bumper and grille.

The '99-'02 grille is "thicker" than the earlier grille and it's taller, going down into a dip in the Sport bumper.

Mine is an early 98. 2500 qQCSB 12 valve. Had an 01 Sport and thought they were the same, but didn't look that deep into it.So any advice from the folks on here is appreciated. The 1500 grill from the 99 needs the frame to fit my truck?BTW, SharpTruck!

Bigceltic, if you have the frame to, it may work. How much? Maybe folks on here can help me create my ideal truck. Had 3 blood lots and 3 simultaneous strokes in June. Now sittin at home rehabbing after 2 months in hospital. Now gotta re- teach my body everything. May as well mod my truck. Thanks all!

Sorry to hear about your strokes.

The Sport grille is larger than the standard grille, so you will need the frame.

Thanks for the comment on the truck. I thought she looked good, too, until she got totaled out sitting in my driveway.

The truck was sitting where the black car is in the pic. He was in the air when he hit my truck and pushed it into the hose, breaking six studs and the window. The road was clear and dry. He ran off the road, slid over 200', went airborne twice, and hit the truck. I guess I should be happy he hit the truck. If the truck hadn't been there he'd been in the bed with me. He wasn't drunk or high and he didn't get hurt. The car was borrowed and no insurance. My insurance paid me for the truck and I bought it back. Both frame rails were bent. He hit right on a cross member. I put the engine in a '98.5 Quad Cab so I came out with a 3 year newer truck with a back seat and leather interior with 250K less miles on it.
