:--) Looking for a long bed dually... dealer had several sb megacab duallys.. New Longhorn MSRP............NEARLY 80, 000 dollars!! Wth is this! Ours stickered at 69670 for a Laramie and bought it for 58.... still, I don't know how how folks can swing these prices... think they will hit 100,000 dollars in a few years! Good God!

yeah 100K for a damn truck!!! like really? who the heck can afford one? hwy would you? i'd go buy another house for 100K.. everything is so oult of line from what we make to what things cost.. i make a decent living too. i still can't justify the expense of a 100K truck... it would NEVER leave the garage..

LOL and THEN come the cost of the modifications.. Last month when I got mine still took 10k to get it where it needed to be. That means I have within 2k of the MSRP in it..

Trucks are the same as the rest of the cars -- they all go up.

For the Price of these trucks now, they should ALL included sprayed in liners, 5th wheel prep, running board mudflats and everything else...They should all have a 10 year 500000 mile bumper to bumper warranty.... This is getting stupid...Personally, I think the msrp on my 70k truck should be about 45.....Right after I bought it, I wanted to trade it in on the Exact same truck but in a dually... Dealer offered me 39000 for a truck 2 months old and 2000 miles...

Most of us already have trucks, so the sticker price really isn't the be-all/end-all. I'll just say that I traded in my 2011 Laramie 3500 DRW 2WD 350/650 on the truck in my signature which had a $75K+ window sticker for a difference of $26K and change.

There's been an ad on TV lately for a Cadillac SUV (Escalade I think). Anyway, if you catch the small print, the MSRP on that thing is $87k! And not even a diesel engine!

For those that still choose to buy a vehicle, many are financing for 72 or even 84 months to get the payment at a reasonable rate. Beyond that, the number of people that choose to lease their vehicle is higher now than I believe ever before.

The new technology is great. Vehicles are just filled with features that were never even thought of just a few years ago. But combine the cost of the new tech and government mandated features, and vehicle costs are closely reaching the point where they simply are unmanageable for a large portion of the population.

I'll try and find the article link, but CNN Money or USA Today printed an article last summer talking about the next automotive bubble that is coming. They claim that it's only a matter of time.

You can likely get $13k-$15k off of that sticker.

I have seen a Mega cab Dually list for $98k Canadian and it sold right away, not sure what it went for but that is still a lot of cash no matter what currency you are using :--)

I feel sorry for those that are not shopping at Dave Smith, Dennis Dillion or similar competing dealers. I cringe every time I see another Ram with plates from the local dealers. They got screwed without a kiss

I drove 508 miles (one way) from the Houston area to buy my truck from a dealer in Alabama. See post #5. I seriously doubt that the dealers you mention could have been competitive.

Someone who either had lots of money or could write it off bought it within a week of it arriving on the lot. Not me for sure. I always buy used.:)

You can thank your government for the price. Mandated safety and emissions features, mandated working condition (OSHA, Healthcare, etc, etc,) and, most importantly, The Fed. Since The fed was started, the USD has lost over 90% of it's value. Everything cost more because your dollar is worth less. Just saying.

I saw a 3500 that would have been as exactly as I would have ordered, with a 64K sticker price. The dealer dropped the price to 54K, if I would have purchased it on the spot. With the 07 3500 I have now, all paid for (paid cash at time of purchase) that just only turned over 65K miles, I can't justify having a $700+ Payment at a minimum. So I settled on a Tacoma for 35K that can/does tow my boat, that way I can keep both trucks, and if necessary can take both trucks on a vacation and enjoy the 5ver and boat, and can do some serious 4X4ing.

$10-12K off the MSRP is pretty much the norm IF!!!! you shop around some. It's what I did for getting my 2016 August 28, 2015. Already have 25K miles on it in a year. I get a new truck about every 5 or so years. I'm sure I'll be paying more for my truck then my house ($144K in 2001) soon enough. But with only 10 years left on my mortgage it will be okay......

Same thing has happened with housing around here. My house has doubled at least in value. But jobs also pay better too than a few years ago.

Funny how often I see these types of threads on truck camper, toyhaulers, RZR forums, ATV forums, Jeep pages, etc.... but yet the woods are full of guys running around in high dollar toys and extreme camping rigs. :)

Work hard, play harder!!
