Fiat Chrysler Recalls 1.2 Million Ram Pickup Trucks3 hours 2 minutes ago - DJNF
By Chester Dawson DETROIT- -- Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV on Friday issued a recall for an estimated 1.2 million Ram pickup trucks in North America to fix a glitch in safety system sensors, linking the problem to one death and two injuries.
The recall impacts certain 2013-2016 model year Ram light-duty 1500, medium-duty 2500 and heavy-duty 3500 trucks, about one million of which are in the U.S., with another 216,007 in Canada and 21,668 in Mexico, the company said.
FCA said it "is aware of one fatality, two injuries and two accidents that may be related." It didn't provide further details on those incidents.
The faulty sensors could temporarily disable deployment of side air-bags and seat-belt tightening mechanisms in the event of a vehicle rollover after "a significant underbody impact," it said.
The recall is the largest issued by FCA since May last year when it recalled about 4.3 million 2004-2012 model year vehicles to replace their front-passenger air bag inflaters following the recommendation of supplier Takata Corp., whose air bags have been implicated in multiple deaths and injuries in the U.S. FCA said then it wasn't aware of any accidents of injuries involving its vehicles.

Why would anybody in their right mind do business with Takata after the first debacle? Sounds like Takata is at it again...

A year ago (almost), they reprogrammed the ORC module (Occupant Restraint Control Module). I guess that wasn't enough?

After all I have read about these Air Bag things I really want them removed from my truck. I think I'd rather take my chances on the crumple zones and soft dash asy's and of course the seat belts saving my life than have an explosive charge fail and kill me with shrapnel.

Why do people think that those bags are going to save your life when serious collision occur?...They may aid in stopping injury or death, but thinking they are life savers in every serious collision is a big mistake that may cost you your life.."Look" at the carelessness most drivers excise behind the wheel, My favored , Merging on to traffic they rarely gauge there speed to merge onto traffic, Heck they don't even look until they want to jump on, Than bam nail the brakes BC they are running out of merge on lane when the shoulder is just fine to drive on and Merge on. Puttin faith into air bags when driving like fools totally stupid. When Air bags deploy its serious crash Driving never to have that crash is My Habits.

Actually, I wasn't complaining. Probably sounded like I was. I wasn't even worried about inconvenience. Just wondering if this recall applies to me.
