comrades

- ill be ordering a 18 tradesman within 1 - 2 months. almost have 16 hemi paid off. i am a caveman, and need a stick. among my vehicles i own a 02 cummins with the slush box. the truck is totally falling apart, but is so much more fun to drive than my newer truck. its almost shameful, i know...i realize the g56 is de rated to 350hp etc, and im fine with that. the endless searching for a gear/lugging that my current 16 auto does is maddening to me...any input is welcome. i am contractor, and my commute is from 9500 feet up to 5000 feet and visa versa. cheers!

Enjoy it. Thats's all I have to say about that.

Welcome to TDR!

tow/haul mode eliminates all of that. Sounds like an awfully expensive endeavor to trade in a 2016 for a 2018...

comrade...appreciate the reply. i drive in tow haul all the time. it does not solve that issue. neither does the pedal commander, which helped a little....overall, i dont thing the hemi has enough torque at 6000 - 9500 feet to keep everything happy. my old 02 diesel can tow up a 8 mile hill at 9000 feet and accelerate to 90 plus....theh hemi - not so much...

thanks and cheers!

Welcome to TDR, the first thing on my list with any new CTD/G56 would be to get rid of the ATF fluid in the G56. Fill it with Mobil Delvac 50 synthetic trans fluid as well as the transfer case. Warranty? I don't care about that, if I would have done that on my 07 when new, I wouldn't have had to replace the browned bearings from over heating, at 35K miles. Although its not as necessary, I would also install my trans cooler set on the trans like my 07.

Again, welcome to TDR
