A buddy of mine got 3m paint funnels to strain with

They gave me one at the urgent care yesterday. It is nothing more than a plastic funnel with a fine screen at the bottom. Probably charged my insurance hundreds of dollars for it since it is a medical device.

I had one that was too large to pass. They had to go in after it. No fun either. Here is a home remedy I found, one of my wifes friends tried it and it worked.

3oz lemon juice, 3oz olive oi. Mix and drink just before bedtime. Drink at least 10 glasses of water during the day. Repeat for several days until stone passes. Tart cherries or tart cherry juice is supposed to help. Do a Google search for kidney stone home remedies. There are several. You may find one that does the trick.

This sounds more like the remedy for a gallstone, rather than a kidney stone... Just be advised that you will not be able to safely move more than 10' away from ANYTHING that resembles a toilet for a few days... My remedy suggested using either lemon, lime, or grapefruit, but I'm 100% sure it was to get the olive oil to go down and stay there. You will surely pass plenty of liquids, but not from the desired location FYI!! Perhaps the pain from the need to go #2 negates the pain while passing the problem while going #1

It seems that most people are recommending lots of water, as well as liquids that are high in citric acid for both...

Cranberry juice and water was the remedy most used for bladder infections AND kidney stones.

I have more than one. I passed a small one late last night which was in the bladder and I have more below the left kidney.

I hope they drop, and don't cause what happened to me! Oh and KEEP DRINKING!!!
I was on a cycle where- pee, large mason jar of water (quart?), pee, repeat all day long.

I honestly don't think that I drank enough today. I'm just not thirsty but I know that I just need to keep forcing it in.

That will change tomorrow though, my wife will be off of work due to the weather and she will insist that I take in enough water.

Oh never had any luck passing them period blasting doesn't work, surgery is the only solution for removal, I was shown those rocks after 12mm no way going to past them! Good luck drink plenty of pure WATER!

I have ONLY HEARD that, self manual manipulation of your Organ SEVERAL times a day helps with this ailment :-laf

My Dad had these Im not sure but I believe that ultrasound bursts broke them up and made them easier to pass. That was back in the Caveman Era of medicine so I don't know if thats still used.

Seriously. Follow my cycle. Go right to the water after the bathroom. For the pee volume test, they want a half gallon output daily IIRC.

I'm on it. Probably have had a gallon of water this evening already. Not working tomorrow obviously so it doesn't matter if I'm up all night in the bathroom.

I'm thinking that you would have noticed if it ever happened to you. I've never had anything hit me so quick. I'm not liking this getting older thing some days.

jgillott I understand your discomfort and all the others here that have had to go through this pain, my neighbor has had several episodes of stones. I'll have to ask him if any of his family members have had the same issue, we never thought of that. As for the getting old thing as I always say, Gettin' old ain't for sissies. Feel better soon! Thanks. This last year has been the most eventful I've had. First the shoulder problems last year and now these kidney stones. It's like you threw a switch and I went from no issues and now it is one thing after another.
