Government Issued ID Required

Yesterday I went to the local UPS Hub to send back a $29.00 defective part for an exchange, with a supplied by the recipient pre-paid UPS label.
I was totally surprised when the guy behind the counter said he needed to see a Govt. Issued photo ID, and pointed to the newly installed paper sign.
I said you have to be kidding I need to show an ID to return this package but not to vote for our elected officials?
I showed him the ID and he had to key the required info into the computer.

I know about the recent Texas package bomber and maybe that is what prompted the change but Really.

Just you wait, soon you will have to do that when drop off anything to ship. If that doesn't work well enough, there'll come a time that they will be packing your stuff for you ($$$) to ship. You can thank all those nutjobs doing stupid things.

Don't know what you do for a living but you should try to enter a Refinery, Loading Rack or pipeline pumping station UNANNOUNCED even if you HAVE COMPANY CREDENTIALS

YEP just been busy for my redneck ability IN POSITION UPGRADE WITHIN THE COMPANY
