was the filter from Athens GA FCA dealer?

I think Athens Ga FCA only ever stocked the mopar branded one. Not the fleetguard-branded one

Is the fleetguard one any different? Is there a reason to spend more on the fleetguard?

get out your maginifying glasses people and look at the top of your Mopar primary fuel filter... the Mopar boxed and branded primary fuel filter most of us buy is made by fleetgard.

I never doubted that. But I think they have different part numbers

the MO291 ( that being the Mopar stocking or part number) filter that most of us are buying is Fleetgard FS 53000.
next time you replace one, look at the fine print on the top of the filter. its all cast into the filter head

There is a cummins building up by Miami Lakes Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram. I need to stop in there and see if it's retail. Or if they stock things for sale

Newsa that is Cummins Southeast Power . yes, they have a parts counter open to the public and they have all sorts of stuff.. they do our warranty work and are the authorized representative when we have issues.

they used to be next to the Palmetto Xway between the NW103 and Okeechobee Rd exits.

Air, engine mount and oil filters are ALL made by FleetGuard. Under bed filter is made by Raycor.

12v98, I believe that observation has been established a long time ago. I was just pointing out that the filter in question is clearly embossed with the Cummins logo and has a Fleetgard part# although it is packaged in a Mopar box..

"12v98, I believe that observation has been established a long time ago."

Ya know there are lot's of new members that may not know this!

yeah. I'd agree with that... OTOH sometimes new members have a ton of diesel experience and they just wanted a nice magazine to look at. LOL

Finally got tired of getting a "Fuel System Service Required See Dealer" every time I turned on the truck, so I changed fuel filters with just less than 12,500 miles on them. My 2013 gives me the message early and counts down to zero quicker than It's supposed to. But since I did run a couple of tanks of B20, I decided to go ahead and change both fuel fliters.

I use keepa.com to monitor Amazon for items I regularly purchase. You can set a price target and get notified when it drops below. I've purchased the FS53000 for $30 and the LF16035 oil filter for $10 (2 for $20) within the last six months. These prices don't last long, so you have to act fast upon email notification. With my $4 a gallon Mobil Delvac purchases (rebate and price match), have been doing oil changes for $22. 6.7L maintenance can be very low cost if you shop with smart online tools and ahead of time.

Not many of the new members have your type of background........

most people couldn't have my background even if they wanted it... they would have had to start at it in 1976 and been just as uncreative as myself in order to not say to their self that there has to be a better way to make money .
