I realize that there are in fact MANY more important things to care about in this world, but this kind of behavior REALLY ticks me off...it's just another way for STUPID diesel truck owners who clearly don't give a rats ass about anything but their own juvenile sense of humor to feel good about themselves.

And how would they feel, or god forbid REACT, if Tesla drivers started parking in front of diesel pumps and leaving their cars in front of the pump so it can't be used for diesel vehicles???

And of course the WORST part about it is that it prolly started with just a couple of dumb kids doing it, but due to social media's immediate influence., will likely spread country wide within the next month!!

I resent the Tesla charging stations. There has to be enough of them along the New Jersey turnpike for every Tesla owned in the state.
It’s obvious that these folks committing these immature acts are indeed acting out for a reason. In parts of NC and TN, I know there’s a influx of city folk and enviro nuts moving in- especially into the Asheville area, and I can understand the concern of the Appalachian natives.
Further, this article introduces the “ICE-ing” tag among other anti fossil fuel hints. Make no mistake, it will be another form of fanaticism that’s intimidating the American way.
I don’t roll coal, but screw them. I’m not putting up solar panels to help either!

What possible reason can there be for preventing someone from tanking up their car be it electrical charge or fossil fuels??

Seafish, there’s always more to the story. Somewhere at the top of all this nonsense is the plan to make ICE go way of the horse and buggy for mainstream transportation.
Tell me you don’t agree.
Tell me that you’re FOR the Paris Accord and the climate plan.
Tell me that you’re ok with folks coming in and taking a corner of your livelihood.
The electric car deal is horse crap if you’re going more than 5 miles from your house.

We were just in NY for a couple of days and there was a Tesla charging station next to the hotel. I didn't count how many chargers they had there but I didn't see any vehicles using them. I wonder how much demand there actually is for those chargers in urban areas?

About 10 years ago, one of the office ladies at the shop got her an electric car, seems it was a Chevy. Anyway, she had one of the service writers run her an extension cord out of a vent in the wall and she’d park in front of it and plug her car up when she got to work. After two or three weeks I asked the owner when he was putting in a diesel tank for me to fuel up with. Evidently he’d not noticed what was going on. The cord was gone that afternoon and she traded the car off the next week.

At our local hospital there are eight parking places for “Electric Vehicles Only” with charging stations. These were put right next to the building where the handicapped places had been and the handicapped places moved over into the first row of the parking lot. I’ve been there several times and have yet to see a car in one of the spots, much less plugged up.

Therein lies the issue. If the weirdos stayed in hollywierd, we’d be ok. JR, I was reading some of this hype, and one of these wierdos who thinks fairy dust comes out of electric cables comes from Rhode Island. It’s well known that great places like Colorado, western NC, parts of Virginia are being invaded by the demanding idiots.
No wonder the native inhabitants are reacting in some way.

Interesting. So far, most of the ones I've seen have been at the far edge of lots.

As a professional wrench of a few years—23, not many but not a rookie—and an avid racer of all things internal combustion powered, I sort of like the Tesla for what it is.

The invasiveness of the Telsa cloud I can do without, and currently they are being very difficult as far as DIY goes but if Musk can be trusted to be truthful he sees the cars as very open source and DIY friendly eventually.

Tesla charging stations are on property owned by Tesla, or on land leased by them. They are being installed 100% paid for by the company. Basic universal “EV charging stations” I’m not sure about but Tesla is footing the bill for their own.

We have a ton of electric rigs at work, from large diesel electric heavy machinery down to Polaris Ranger EVs, GEMs and little golf cart things. I embrace the knowledge to work on them.

If I could get one to last more than 1.5 days on a charge (150 mile daily commute) and could get over how connected they are to mommy I’d seriously consider one for commuting.
