2018 intercooler upgrade?

So I was involved in a minor accident, we’re ok and part of the damage is sent to the intercooler.

Is the Mishimoto intercooler an upgrade to the stock one? Should I just replace it with the stock cooler? Any advantages to an upgraded intercooler?

I've been told the factory cooler can support up to 600hp without any issues. Couple improvements that I can see from going to aftermarket being stock are maybe.

1. Cooler egts
2. cooler intake temps
3. maybe a little better boost?
4. would look cool

cons i would think could be

1. cost
2. is it really necessary on a stock ish truck?
3. Could it end up causing a negative impact? This im not sure of but a thought none the less.

I was going to say the same thing when I noticed it was deleted, and he could tune to any changes.

thank you...on on the fence. I like to upgrade whenever possible if it’s beneficial.

I only run a 30hp tune and don’t ever plan on any more than maybe a 90hp in the future. Looks like stock it is.

If the internal volume of the Mishimoto is bigger you'll probably feel a tiny tad more turbo lag.
Thats the only downside i could think of.

The flow is more efficient, all aluminum, at least on the 3rd gen. Compare cost too.
