Hired a new guy, great attitude and willing to learn. Came from an IGA store.

There are a few side effects, we had never seen air bags stacked like canned corn before...:D:D

As any of you know that have to hire people lately it is a rare occasion when you hire someone with a great attitude combined with a willingness to learn!

I was extremely fortunate to get this guy!!!

Doesn’t mean that we won’t mess with him a little....

Next you'll see BOGO signs all over the aisles.

I had a test for new hires years ago, count the pile of loose clutch release bearings that I had in a small box. These were bearing only common on Nissan etc.

Shelia was up next, she counted correct, stacked them in stacks of 5 per stack and said Mr. Gary this one is different from the others. I planted a bogey and she found it.

She was one of if not the best i ever had the honor to hire.

Paper or plastic?

Your kidding right? Talk about BLANK STARES when you ask for "Paper" anymore. After a point the "humor" of watching someone attempt to operate a paper bag and being outsmarted by one gets old quick. That IS if there is even a real checker, let alone a "rare" bagger, to help you to the car and unload... instead of a computer telling you how stupid it thinks you are because it can't weigh the self check item. After all "...even in the future Nothing Works!"

Oh wait you ordered online and they delivered and unloaded in your kitchen...

The grocery store that my mom used had baggers with special upright two wheeled parking lot carts. They bagged your goods and wheeled the load out to your car and then placed them in the trunk or where ever.

Green stamps! next it will be gas jockey's fill up with premium sir? check the oil today?

Nah kid, just three bucks wash the glass all around.

That 3 bucks got you almost 8 gallons back then 1973.

I remember the .19 a gallon price wars, we use to dig our pockets for quarters.

I remember when the gas stations had to put a $1 tape to the left of the pump when fuel went over $.99/gallon.

Memories.

BTW, great to hear new employee is working out. Nothing like great organizing/ arranging skills to spruce up a place.

Cheers, Ron
Yes, I remember pumping gas at my uncle's station when gas went over $0.99, and the mechanical pumps could not calculate, so they were set to half price, and you had to double it at the end. It was like the end of the world had officially arrived.

Good catch there, Mike. Yes, they are rare. I can teach almost anybody how to do the job, but I can't teach attitude.

Are those 16-19466-000's? Your pile is definitely bigger than my pile.

Just checked, yes they are the same.

These are numbered as Firestone instead of Freightliner.

FI W01 377 8536.

Price break on a quantity of 48 if you want to check it with your local dealer...

Big Papa, just updated my reply now I’ve had a minute to check your number out...have used the Firestone for so long that I had to ponder it for a few minutes...

Years ago both the Freightliner and Firestone names were on the white tag as I recall..

You can see the “Air Liner” right on the bag.

If you get a picture of him that’s anything like the one of “ Cousin George” you have got to post it. If he takes that with a smile he’s a keeper.
