Hi Ron, tell us about that cool audio rack! Are those Kenwood EQ’s down there? Can’t see them too well. Saturday nights when I work on a SaturDAY is pretty much a weeknight unless something special is happening.
Anyone follow racing besides NASCAR or NHRA? Right now the indoor racing season is in full swing.
Next Sat night this will be going on in Tulsa, and I’ll probably have it on tv - https://www.chilibowl.com/about/ but in the daytime, I’ll be here if there’s no snow, I’ve been doing these occasionally since 1988. https://www.motorsportstradeshow.com/
Future Sat nights, I could wind up in Trenton or Atlantic City for one of these-

Wayne,
The equalizers are BSR. There are two systems in the rack, which is $60 Home Depot one painted flat black. One i purchased from a friend who was a DJ in the 80s and 90s; a DBX 4 channel 1000W amp, Kenwood pre amp, Sony 5 disc CD player, Kenwood dual cassette deck, and 4ea 15" two way Cerwin Vega speakers mounted high around the shop. I have 3 turn tables that need some work. I have a powered audio video multiplexer that feed 4 other TVs in the cave.

Pioneer with strap holding front on after RTVing it back on.

The second system is set up as home theater: Denon 5.1 with 175W/channel, 200W sub amp, 2ea Pioneer 15" 3 way speakers on the floor, 8" Cerwin Vega center channel speakers, 13" Cerwin Vega 2 way speakers for the rears. 60" Sony LED TV.

I like watching old Godzilla and monster movies in the man cave. The shop is insulated so acoustics are great.

I personally don't follow sports much, but I have family and friends who are and they come over to enjoy it here.

We have some great gatherings with family and friends.

Cheers, Ron

Ron, that’s a great mix of equipment there! My Kenwood eq has a center display just like those. I have a matching set of early ‘80’s Onkyo tuner, 6 disc changer, and dual cassette deck with as a Sansui turntable and that Kenwood eq. I do not have good speakers at the moment, and this had been primarily a bedside system playing through AKG headphones.

Spent Saturday night with friends, they needed help setting up a wireless internet app for their heat pumps. In return they made us a wonderful supper with marinated steak, garlic potatoes, salad, and all fixins. He is a doctor that hails from Texas, Ron. Apparently you Texans know how to host a meal!!
Homemade peach pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Then some kind of Bourbon that he keeps in the freezer. Would not show me the label but after a couple shots it did become more difficult to focus on the task at hand...:D

Spent Fri. and Sat. at the Pine Room (Hotel Roanoke), 9-midnight, mixing sound for a couple friends on Fri. and Sat. (guitar and two vocals miked; drums natural). I bought a Midas MR-18 digital mixer so I could wander around adjusting the sound using my Android phone. Finally got the EQ readjusted; we use a Fender kbd amp for sound 'behind' them; the master volume control was replaced, completely changing the sound. I was able to get a nice, clean punching sound peaking 88-93 dB to keep it slightly louder than the crowd (wedding parties can be, mmm, boisterous). No feedback despite the speaker being 6 feet behind the mics. I think I'm near the ragged edge, though; much louder and I'm sure feedback would begin to rear its ugly head.

What are the measurmentrs for a room adding a 8' pool table without the walls interfering with play. We have an attached garage thats inside wall measurements are 25x36. When weather permits we'er braking ground on a 36x50 shop and converting the 25x36 into a game room

EDIT: Short answer: Your dimensions work great.

Long answer:
A friend built a 20' x 20' shop and has great c1learance. His work bench an tool boxes are on one side of the building and small fridge, and stools on the other side. Maybe not minimums pool table manufacturers will give like 13' 6" wide and 17' long minimum.

Before building my shop I determined 6' clearance all the way around. which for an 4' x 8' table would be 16' x 20'. The primary purpose of my shop was to store 40' RV.

I love playing pool, but have been aggravated when playing with friends in area too small for it, i.e using short sticks or shooting down on the balls.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like.

Cheers, Ron

Nope THAT ABOUT sums it up!!! I'm not using it for anything other than the SO CALLED MAN CAVE I hate that term but it will be solely for my recreational activities.

Big, copy that only fun in the mancave.... my shop area is for fun maintenance as I do enjoy doing my own maintenance and occasionally helping friends. I'm sure you'll call it something cool, Rec Hall, Fun Room, Fun Zone....

Need to post pics when done and whatcha call it.

Cheers, Ron

I’m not QUITE as old as you. My last sled was a 74 440 TNT. With the carb right at crotch level for those warming backfires. Or if you rode on one knee you occasionally stuffed it into the rubber intake horn and flooded the motor. My, how things have changed.
