Going to do rv275's I'm at 215k and was wondering if new crossover tubes are needed (do they wear ?) or just new O-rings on my originals ?
One of the many reasons dealerships are referred to as "Stealerships"... Glad you connected with a shop that wanted your business vs. just your $$$The local dodge dealer tried to tell me that Cummins didn’t sell just The O-rings you had to buy the tubes to get the O-rings and they only wanted 800$ for the set including installation. I found another shop that knew what they were doing and they got the new O-rings and installed them for 150$ . I was having an intermittent hard start and I couldn’t figure it out turned out one of the O-rings was just bad enough to cause the problem
Ditto. I actually did the heater core and ac evap myself, "TWICE"!!! Evap had a slow leak for years that required a little juice ever other year, then it got to every year, so I finally decided to replace it and figured since heater core was just as old and since job was a real PIA I didn't want to do the evap work and then later have to do it again for heater core. Job done about 8 hours. I cleaned everywhere inside and out of heater box once I got it out, installed new (from Stealership) evap and heater core. Best part of buying from stealer, didn't realize till I got home, the stickers on the box read (WTE) "Genuine Mopar Replacement Parts" on the bottom in fine print "made in Taiwan"?! Awesome right go figure... Anyway, drove for a few days and started to smell that sweet glycol smell from the registers. Yep bad new heater core. To the point stealer said if they had done the work they would cover the labor and the part but, even though I had created a receipt from a friend's shop, could only cover cost of part after I returned it. ARGH!!!! picked up new heater core at local parts house and swore I'd never buy anything from the stealer unless absolutely necessary. That was about 8 years or so ago...I don’t let hardly anyone work on anything anymore just can’t afford to deal with them I do a little business on jobs I don’t want to do myself like replacing a bad heater core I was glad to pay for that
