"Zooming in on the picture of the Torin jack stand, made in china."

I didn't have to look at that pic to know that almost everything HF sells is Made In Communist China!!!

Only certain Snap-On tools are still made in the USA. Most hand tools are still made in their facilities in Milwaukee and other U.S. manufacturing locations, but products like their cordless power drill kit are made in China, among other countries.Dec 23, 2019

Harbor Freight doesn't sell the Torin line. They carry the Pittsburgh line, the ones under the recall.

Yeah I gave mine away and the person traded them in for a Gift Card.

I'm not sure how many rushed to swap out their stands but the store said they had a week of many many swaps till they ran out of those and all you could get was a GC.

But yeah no way I would trade this things in the store for another shady stand.

I still haven't found a replacement set. I'd really like to buy a USA made something but it's not easy finding a set in either a screw pin type or with a locking pin. Don't want another ratcheting pawl type like most are.

Wayne had done some research and only found US Jack, they are only the ratchet type but it does list 2 teeth engage not sure if that's any different then these ones that have failed.

I did see those, and while I'm sure they are good they don't give me the warm fuzzys. The 6 ton HF set I have look stouter than those. Poor comparison, I know

It's all in the engineering and weld process, QC is king in stuff like this.

I think these are probably close to the cream of the crop. 2" schedule 40 pipe for legs...seems like a good company looking through their history. But dang are they expensive.

My 12T HF are beasts.

I don't physically see any issues with them and again they are supposed ANSI rated for whats that worth.

Gotta go on some gov. auction sites and snag something like that.

Yeah I saw that as well. I also found their chain saw one, it is nice when the chainsaw turns off when you want it too.
