Cummins sled puller w/gas RPM's?

VW bug fuel line insulation

Missing my old sled puller and smelling the 110 burning about a 1/2 gallon in 300' Re-posting Marana, AZ 2015, the old 440 FE gets it done! I think they call that, "takin it out the gate":D

Nick, are there no closer pulling venues?
I get the cost hangup, that’s one reason I had to stop and now my closest track is gone :(

There is one small puller in Arizona but they are hit and miss and poor advertising.

It's central California, northern Utah or northern Colorado. My brother in Montana still pulls his '78 Ford, over 40 years now.

Here it is CHI equipped with a 434, 400M based, prior to that it was equipped with Trick Flow top end. The little sucker gets it.

Here he has finally moved up to a BBF 556, he had to, to compete, the trucks were going crazy with power.

Nick I know you’ll like this-
I came across some old pictures, and here’s a shot of a Cleveland I built for my cousin in the early ‘90’s. It went in a ‘79 Bronco. It ran pretty well.

Yarded the old Ford out of the weeds today. Cleaned out the rats nest, pulled the weights and weight bar off and removed excess junk out of the cab. Brake controller (Kelsey Hays), business band two way radio from my logging days, CB mounts and excess wires all over the place. Looks funny with the bumper back on.

Might see some 1/8 mile track action this fall:D

Got a good buy on 2 Napa batteries today. Group 24 marine/starting, 800 cca/1000 ca. They were having their fill up the bucket sale, you buy the bucket and any 3+ items are 20% off. I saved about $80 on what I picked up. They are for the Ford but are sized to fit the dump trailers:D

I'm pretty sure it came down to management. The guy that owned the store as long as I can remember sold it to a long time employee. This was 2 or 3 years ago.

That's too bad. I used to do most of my parts business with a family owned independent parts house. Super knowledgeable, and would always steer you clear of junk parts. All the chains ruined them. Here, we have a NAPA, an O'Reilly, and they just put in an Autozone.

We have NAPA store, Advance Auto Parts, and an Autozone. It is hit or miss between the bunch of them who has the best selection or pricing. They all deliver to the shop, so I don't necessarily have a preference.

Would you guys believe that NAPA has ties to Mike Bloomberg, and at the end of his term as Mayor, he tried to railroad the entire NYC auto/truck parts operation into NAPA? We still are having issues with that.
Anyhow, when I was stating out, there were about a dozen real deal parts stores on the island. They were all professionals and some offered machine shop services, like making driveshafts and cutting flywheels. Now nobody does that stuff and there’s 3-4 independents left.

I live in a weird area:D It is like when this area was settled, there were two factions to the population. They built 2 towns next to each other. I live in Snowflake/Taylor, then we have Springerville/Eagar, Pinetop/Lakeside and Heber/Overguard.

Snowflake/Taylor has about a 9k population but counting rural it is way more, but still...Napa, Car Quest, O'Reilly and now Auto Zone. They built one lot from O'Reilly, Showlow had AutoZone first, then O'Reilly built right across the highway from them. I think they are like Homedepot and Lowe's:D

We had a Dollar Tree, Family Dollar and Dollar General, all in Taylor. When Dollar Tree bought out the other two, they closed them and built a Family Dollar in Snowflake??

We have three Pharmacy's...Walmart, CVS and now an independent??

We have three street lights, now...grrr, Lol

We have three street lights, now...grrr, Lol

The small town I grew up in had just one, for only one night... My dad and his friends took care of it before morning!!
Funny thing, is they never put it back!!!

I'm thinking you've probably even pulled at the fairgrounds in Morgan, UT at one time... Truck pulls were a huge thing for most of my life, and my hometown is only 45 minutes from the founders of EDGE, Industrial Injection, and DAP!!!
